On July 30, 1923, China's first double-decker propeller open-cover aircraft was successfully developed by the Guangdong Aircraft Factory. At the beginning of the year, in order to strengthen the construction of the air force, the Guangdong Revolution set up a special aviation bureau. In the name of Generalissimo, Sun Yat-sen appointed Yang Yat-sen as director of the Aviation Bureau.
In accordance with Sun Yat-sen's proposition that the development of aviation must first develop the aircraft manufacturing industry, Yang immediately established the Guangdong Aircraft Factory in Dashatou, Guangzhou. This is the second time after Feng Ru that China has built its own aircraft. Yang first carefully selected more than 20 mechanics and basically solved the problem of technical backbone.
Then, some of the spare parts and tools that were previously purchased from the United States were used to solve the necessary equipment. After half a year of hard work, we finally designed and produced the first double-deck propeller open-cover aircraft by ourselves. During the manufacturing period, Dr. Sun Yat-sen often visited and encouraged the employees of the factory to work together.
On the day of the test flight of the new aircraft, Sun Yat-sen and his wife Soong Ching-ling attended the test flight ceremony at Dashatou Airport. Sun Yat-sen named Song Qingling as "Luo Shiwen No. 1" after his scientific name when he was a student. also carried Song Qingling flying over Guangzhou, and finally took photos in front of the plane together.

(1891-1923), originally from Xiangshan, Guangdong, was born in Hawaii, USA in 1891. In 1910, he joined the League, and then was admitted to the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Harry University, where he studied machinery and weapons manufacturing technology, and was a pioneer of China's modern aviation industry"The father of the Chinese Revolutionary Air Force"。His father, Yang Shukun, was a famous overseas Chinese businessman in Hawaii and was known as "one of China's two major sugar kings" in the late Qing Dynasty.
Yang Zhukun was a close friend of Sun Yat-sen, and he agreed with Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary cause and vigorously supported Sun Yat-sen economically. As a child, Yang Xianyi was deeply influenced by Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary ideas.
In 1909, when Yang Xianyi began to study in the United States, he chose to study aviation because he agreed with Sun Yat-sen's idea of "saving the country by aviation".
In 1918, he founded the "Tuqiang Aircraft Company" in Hawaii. In the same year, he was recalled by Sun Yat-sen to return to China to discuss state affairs. He served as the commander-in-chief of the "Aircraft Fleet of the Guangdong Army Aiding Fujian", led the aircraft team to bomb the rebel Mo Rong's new department, and made outstanding contributions to the defeat of Mo Rong's new army.
After that, he went to Japan, the United States and other places to collect donations from overseas Chinese, and his father also donated a lot of money to buy back 12 planes and form China's first air force.
In 1923, Sun Yat-sen established the Generalissimo's Office in Guangzhou, Yang Xianyi served as the director of the Aviation Bureau, and then he founded the Guangdong Aircraft Factory, and served as the director, a few months later made an airplane, Sun Yat-sen in recognition of his outstanding merits, personally wrote a banner of "Aiming to Soar to the Sky" to him. (Existing in Guangdong Provincial Museum).
In September 1923, the warlord Chen Jiongming launched a rebellion in Huizhou. Sun Yat-sen sent a large army to attack, Yang Xianyi also participated in the battle, and on the front line of Baishadui in Boromei Lake, Yang Xianyi suggested attacking from the waterway. When inspecting the mines, the mines suddenly **, Yang Xianyi died heroically.

Yang Xianyi's father, Mr. Yang Zhukun, in addition to vigorously supporting his son's operation of Jihuai and aviation, and in 1913 he and the local overseas Chinese raised funds to establish a "China Flying Boat Company" in Honolulu, but it soon closed down. In 1918, he built the "Tuqiang Aircraft Company" in the same place, and named it "Tuqiang" with the aim of trying to strengthen the country and save the country, and the goal was extremely significant. Yeung was 27 years old at the time and was a member of the company's board of directors.
Yang Xianyi's grandmother, Mrs. Yang, saw with her own eyes in Honolulu the situation of Caucasian people being domineering and bullying people of color, which made her realize that overseas Chinese in foreign countries were bullied by others because of the poverty and weakness of the motherland, so her patriotic enthusiasm was aroused. Although she is over the age of old, she still strongly supports her children and grandchildren in responding to Sun Yat-sen's idea of "saving the country by aviation".
She said to her children and grandchildren: "When the motherland needs us, the status of our overseas Chinese will be different, and when the motherland needs us, even if we go to the battlefield, we should not hesitate and cower." In this way, Yang Xianyi was deeply nurtured, supported and encouraged by her family, and she had already made ideological and technical preparations for the establishment of China's air force.
Three generations of the Yang family have cared about the revolution, and their friends love the motherland, which is commendable.
