Who are the eight great bodhisattvas of Buddhism, and what are the names of the eight bodhisattvas?

1.Guanyin Bodhisattva, Xuanzang Sanzang is also translated as Guanyin Bodhisattva. Since Tangning, there have been six Guanyin, seven Guanyin and other changes.

The six Guanyin are the Eleven-faced Guanyin, the Bukong Luosuo Guanyin, the Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Guanyin, the Ruyi Wheel Guanyin, the Matou Guanyin, and the Zhunti Guanyin. In addition, the holy Guanyin is added, which is called the Seven Guanyin.

2.Maitreya Bodhisattva, also known as compassion, incompetence, etc. Received the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and was awarded the title of Bodhisattva. He is a bodhisattva who makes up for his life. The so-called complement means that this bodhisattva can make up for the position of the Buddha.

3.The Void Tibetan Bodhisattva means to store merit in the realm of the void and infinity, indicating the possibility that qi and fortune can be infinitely produced and distributed.

4.Vajrapani, also known as the Master of Secrets, symbolizes "strong and incorruptible bodhichitta" and "afflictions are the wonders of bodhi".

5.Fuxian Bodhisattva is a Bodhisattva who rides a white elephant and makes a wish. The ancient Indian language of Puxian is called "Sammando Padhara", and Tantra also calls Puxian as the good Vajra, the true Vajra, the wishful Vajra, and is also regarded as the same body of Vajrasattva.

6.Manjushri Bodhisattva. He often accompanied Shakyamuni and helped Shakyamuni to transform his name. "Manjushri" means wonderful, and "Shili" means virtue and auspiciousness.

7.Remove the obstacle bodhisattva. His virtuous deeds remove all obstacles to all afflictions.

8.Jizo Bodhisattva. Because it is as immobile as the earth and as deep as a secret store, it is called the earth. After the Buddha Shakyamuni was destroyed and before Maitreya was born, the Bodhisattva of the Earth vowed to exhaust all sentient beings in the six realms and wish to become a Buddha; If sentient beings do not live, they will not become Buddhas.

The Sariputra Dharani Sutra says: Light. Ming Bodhisattva, Huiguang. Ming Bodhisattva, Nikko. Ming Bodhisattva, teaching. Transform the Bodhisattva, make all the minds full of the Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva of great freedom, the Bodhisattva of the king, the Bodhisattva of the will.

The Prajna Sutra says: Vajrapani, Avalokiteshvara, Void Hidden Bodhisattva, Vajra Fist Bodhisattva, Manjushri, Wheel of Mind Bodhisattva, Void Reservoir Bodhisattva, and Destroyer of All Demons.

Bodhisattva is the abbreviated name of Bodhisattva, which is translated as: Enlightenment, seeking supreme Bodhi with wisdom, transforming sentient beings with compassion, cultivating all paramitras, and achieving Buddhahood in the future, and those who bravely seek Bodhi, for the two vehicles of sound and hearing, if they are regarded from the point of view of seeking Bodhi (enlightenment), they can also be called bodhisattvas.

Mahayana practitioners who specifically refer to the supreme bodhi are called Mahasattva, Mahasattva, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Mahabodhisattva Titisattva, etc., to distinguish them from the two vehicles.

Bodhisattva's Studies:

The realm of the Bodhisattva is all great compassion, great joy and great giving, the sea of suffering of birth and death of all sentient beings, no longer the six realms of reincarnation, and great happiness, the Bodhisattva is self-interested and altruistic, the self-interested person himself thinks that he is a saint, and the altruistic person can also attain the Bodhisattva realm of ordinary people, and the Bodhisattva cultivates the six paramitas in both the cause and the effect land.

Wealth and charity are divided into internal and external financial charity, those who benefit sentient beings with physical strength and labor are given for internal wealth, and those who give to the public with money and material benefits are called external wealth and dharma giving, and those who teach sentient beings the truth of the Dharma and help sentient beings to break through their confusion and become enlightened are called Dharma giving, fearless giving, protecting sentient beings so that they are not afraid, and making sentient beings stable is called fearless giving.

Bodhisattvas can cultivate all the precepts and good dharmas of the home, at home, Mahayana, and Hinayana by practicing generosity, and have three bodhisattva vows with great merit, all good things to do, all evil things to be done, and all sentient beings to save them from their troubles.

For the benefit of the public, to endure insults and blows, as well as hunger and cold, the so-called difficult deeds can be done, the unbearable can be endured, and never give up the desire to save sentient beings, the bodhisattva can endure all sentient insults and insults, and all the great deeds of cold, heat, hunger and thirst in the outside world, that is, he can cut off his troubles.
