In August, I started my postgraduate programme for the Master of Science in Data Science and Machine Learning at the National University of Singapore. The reason why I applied to study abroad is because I majored in data science and big data technology, which is a relatively new professional direction, and from the perspective of the development prospects of big data, the future big data field will release a large number of talent demand, and the overall employment prospects are still very broad.
For example, the "2020 Emerging Careers Report (US)" released by LinkedIn made ** the 15 hottest jobs in the future, and data scientists and data engineers were on the list; The 2019 Emerging Professions Report (China) also lists data analysts as one of the top five emerging professions, and points out that data analysts in China are currently transformed from various technologies or researchers, and the demand for professional data analysts will continue to grow in the future. However, big data technology is still in the early stage of application, and the industry pays more attention to high-end talents, so for me, going abroad for graduate school is the fastest way to improve myself.
What I like most about the MSc in Data Science and Machine Learning is that it is structured in a combination of theory and practice. For example, in the course Introduction to Industrial Big Data, professors will teach various topics of data analysis, including data cleaning, data visualization, and other knowledge. In industrial consulting and application projects, I can go to the company to do data analysis courses or join a research group to work on a research project.
This course structure gives me the opportunity to apply the expertise I have learned in a real work environment and to get early exposure to the practical application of techniques such as data analysis.

It depends on whether you choose a private school or a public school to study abroad, if it is a public school, the conditions will be stricter, if it is a private school, the conditions are not strict. It's okay if you have money. I said it's okay if you have 90% money, right?
Let's put it this way! But of course, you have to have the ability to read it to the end, and you don't know if you won't pass the exam by then, then you are a tragedy!

There are still certain requirements for applying for a master's degree in Singapore, which generally depends on your undergraduate school, major, average score and IELTS score, as well as soft internship.
If you are an undergraduate school, it is best to apply for a double non-book; There are no mandatory requirements for majors, and cross-professional applications are also supported, of course, some majors require relevant backgrounds, depending on the actual requirements; If you have an average score, it is best to have 85+, 80+ is also acceptable, and finally it is the IELTS application.
In terms of soft power, there are relevant scientific research competition awards, or internship work experience is good, I also applied for a master's degree in Singapore in Mint Tree before, and Shuangfei also got an offer, and the paperwork is better to give me an advantage.

I am a freshman in the Class of 2020 who came to the National University of Singapore in August this year to study the MSc in Food Science and Human Nutrition. Before I went to graduate school, I had been working in product development for 3 years in a food and beverage multinational company. In my three years of work, I have found that as consumers become more and more stressed, it is difficult for them to have a very good quality of sleep, but there are no good foods and drinks to help them relax better and get better sleep and rest other than taking "melatonin".
Therefore, I think that if there are foods and beverages in the market that promote the body's soothing and relaxing at night, and even play more healthy functions, they will be welcomed by consumers. In order to be able to develop in this field and to be able to help more people enjoy this healthy diet, I became a graduate student in the Master of Food Science and Human Nutrition programme at NUS.
In addition to the language scores and academic certificates required by this course, I also submitted my transcripts of the top rankings in each semester during my undergraduate studies, as well as the award certificates of some food-related competitions and some business competitions in which I participated. However, I think that among these factors, what makes me stand out is that I have three years of experience in food research and development, and I have my own practical ideas and unique understanding of food research and development and food processing technology.

As we all know, there are two main types of universities in Singapore, namely: public universities and private universities; The application requirements are also different, and public universities are more demanding than private universities.
1. Public universities.
A master's degree in Singapore's public institutions has always been a dream for many international students, and both the quality of teaching and Singapore's unique employment advantages have become the reasons for attracting a large number of international students.
Singapore masters attach great importance to applicants' undergraduate backgrounds, and prefer students who are 985 211, two finances and one trade. In view of the surge in the number of applicants this year, it is recommended to have a GPA score of 85 or above and prepare for the GRE GMAT to increase your competitiveness.
In this year's application environment, it is more secure to maintain a GPA score of 85+, IELTS plus a good GMAT or GRE score.
Application Requirements: National University of Singapore Nanyang Technological University:
211 985: 85% average score required, GMAT GRE required for some majors;
Double Non-Residential: Score up to TOP3% + rich experience.
Of course, if you are applying to Singapore Management University, depending on the major, students with double non or even double books can be considered. Because Singapore Management University is a more American-style school, there are many factors that will be considered in admission, not just the average undergraduate score.
Timeline: There are no rounds of applications for public master's degrees in Singapore, and there is no first-come, first-served basis, and the application will be reviewed after all applications are submitted, and then the offer will start around May. A minimum preparation period of not less than one year is recommended.
2. Private universities.
Generally speaking, Singapore's private universities are mostly language and diploma transition platforms, and most of them have established partnerships with overseas universities, and most of the master's degrees in Singapore's private schools are awarded by well-known universities in third-party countries. When choosing these schools, you should pay attention to the status and credibility of the partner university, and avoid false and asymmetric information. It also depends on whether the institution has EduTrust certification, so that schools with this accreditation have the legal right to recruit international students, and the interests of international students can be fully protected.
Application requirements: The application requirements for postgraduate students in private universities in Singapore require an average university score of 70 or above;
Hold a bachelor's degree certificate and degree certificate from a relevant university;
Language score requires IELTS score or above;
The conditions for private universities to become masters are domestic three-year college graduates, IELTS or above or language assessment plus language preparation, and corresponding assessment is required, and some majors need to provide 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
You can use the study abroad volunteer reference system for what level of university you can apply to at your own level.
