Speaking of the thinker, we must first talk about his origin. The earliest thinkers appear in one of Rodin's unfinished works, The Gates of Hell. The creation of "Gates of Hell" was inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy - Inferno.
The door was full of souls who had fallen into hell. There is a person who thinks deeply in the door, which is originally a portrayal of Rodin himself, representing the author's thinking about human nature. He was later identified as the poet Dante.
Later, inspired by Rodin's secretary, the Austrian poet Rilke, "The Thinker" became a separate work from "The Gates of Hell", in addition to "The Kiss" and "The Three Shadows", which are also from "The Gates of Hell".
Rodin's works are no longer simply the pursuit of physical similarity, but more of the pursuit of inner expression and sensual embodiment, which is the greatness of Rodin. He was the inheritor of classical sculpture and modern sculpture, knocking on the door of modern sculpture art.

Thinker, what is a thinker? Thought is not simply a thought, the thinker, first of all, you have to examine it from the aesthetic, philosophical and other professional perspectives, from then on, we can see the meaning it contains.
The thinker, as the name suggests, is a statue of a person who is thinking, and his focused expression, movements, and postures all show the meaning of the thinker.
To put it simply......Ahem! I'm sleepy, so let's write so much first.

The "Thinker" was originally a seated statue of the main sculpture on the frieze of the "Gates of Hell", and it is the most representative of the huge sculptures. Later, Rodin made it into a separate sculpture and it became his most famous masterpiece. Rodin used this image to symbolize the great poet Dante, but also to himself, to symbolize all mankind.
A giant of high intelligence, quietly sat there in deep contemplation, with his right elbow on his left knee, his chin and lips in his hands, and fell into absolute meditation as he contemplated all the tragedies of the Enlightenment that were happening below. The bent ribs and tense muscles seemed to be about to be opened by the spark of wisdom, however, apart from contemplation, there was only inner repression and hidden pain. The rich connotation of the work fully reflects the depth, anguish and richness of the sculptor's thoughts.

The extant reproduction of The Thinker was created in bronze at the expense of a Japanese connoisseur of Rodin's art. The extant work is three times larger than the original, about six or seven feet high (186 cm), and is in the collection of the Rodin Museum in Paris. As one of Rodin's great artistic masterpieces, The Thinker has played a powerful role in the social life that followed, especially in the early 20th century, as a symbol of the power to transform the world.
In 1917, during Rodin's funeral, the people of Paris placed the statue in front of the "Shrine of the Great Man" in the resting place of his coffin, so that the people could pay tribute to the artist's immortal artistic achievements.

Rodin's masterpiece "The Thinker" is not recognized in the industry? After reading it, it subverted my cognition.
