Raul Gonzalez (born 27 June 1977) is a Spanish professional footballer who played as a striker and captain of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team.
Raul played for Real Madrid for 16 years from 1994 to 2010, helping the team win six La Liga titles, three UEFA Champions League titles and two Toyota Cup titles[2], and scored 323 goals in 741 official appearances for Real Madrid[3], making him the most capped and second-most goalscoring player in Real Madrid's history. In 2010, Raul bid farewell to Real Madrid to join the Bundesliga team Schalke 04 FC, and in the 2010 and 2011 seasons, he led Schalke to the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in history[4] and won the German Cup[5] ; In 2012, Raul joined Qatar Al Sadd FC [6] . In 2014, Raul joined the New York Universe in Major League Soccer and won the North American Professional League championship.
