Zhu Ziqing's prose.
Zhu Ziqing (1898-1948), whose artistic achievements in his prose are the lyrical prose such as "Back", "Moonlight on the Lotus Pond", and "Green", which are included in the collections of "Back" and "You and Me". Zhu Ziqing's prose is not only good at description, but also achieves the artistic realm of scene blending in description.
His prose about scenery occupies an important place in the prose creation of modern literature, and his use of vernacular to describe scenery is the most charming. For example, in "Green", he uses metaphors, contrasts and other techniques to delicately and deeply draw the quality and color of Meiyutan Waterfall, and the text deliberately seeks work, showing the superb skills of mastering language and writing.
His perfect writing skills are even more vividly expressed in "Moonlight on the Lotus Pond". For example, when describing the beauty of the lotus under the moonlight, the author compares it to a pearl, a star in the blue sky, and a beauty in the bath; When describing the faint fragrance of lotus flowers, he used the sentence "as if the faint singing voice floating over the tall building in the distance", using the song as a metaphor for the aroma, and the faintness as a metaphor for the lightness of the aroma, the use of this synaesthesia technique is accurate and wonderful.
Compared with the above-mentioned metaphors of the gorgeous He Nongyan, Zhu Ziqing also has another style of prose, that is, using simple language to convey sincere and deep feelings in a simple narrative. This kind of work can often show the author's integrity, enthusiasm, and progressive heart, such as "The ** of Life--Seven Cents", "The White Man--God's Pride!" and so on are representative works of this style, among which the most influential is "Back".
This essay paints a picture of a father and son saying goodbye at the station. The text uses easy words to describe the father's action of climbing onto the platform, and conveys the true feelings between father and son in the funny and clumsy movements. This essay washes away his former lead, and through his father's every move, the reader seems to see the author's bleak family background.

Zhu Ziqing's poetry and essay collections are representative works such as "Snow Dynasty" and "Trace". The representative works of the prose collection include "Back", "Moonlight on the Lotus Pond", and "Qinhuai River in the Shadow of the Pulp Sound and Light". Zhu Ziqing's early prose can be divided into two categories: realistic argumentation and narrative lyricism.
The former, such as "The ** of Life, Seven Cents", "Civilization in the Sailing", "The Pride of the Caucasian God", "A River", "The Three Gentlemen of Mourning Weijie", and "Travel Miscellaneous", are directly based on real life, and are famous articles that attack the dark society by means of mezzanine narratives and discussions.
The latter, such as "Back", "Qinhuai River in the Sound of Oars and Lights", "Green", "Moonlight on the Lotus Pond", "The Moon is Hazy, the Birds are Hazy, the Curtains are Begonia Red", and "White Water Stream", which are masterpieces of scene blending, full of poetry and picturesqueness, and represent the highest achievement of his prose art.
Characteristics of Zhu Ziqing's lyrical prose
The feelings are sincere and simple. Accurate observation of natural scenes, keen sense of sound and color. Good at collecting, comparing, and rejuvenating various techniques, starting and turning, waving and seeing, both the song and the aftertaste. The writing is exquisite and graceful, the rhythm is ups and downs, full of poetry and life interest.
Zhu Ziqing's pursuit of elegance, harmony, subtlety and moderation is on the one hand a continuation of the spirit of traditional Chinese culture, and on the other hand, it also implies the escape and negation of China's real social scene.
Zhu Ziqing's prose creation, from delicate and timeless to simple and thick to radical and profound, is marked with a distinct mark of the times, showing his unique artistic style and aesthetic interest. Yu Dafu said in "Introduction to Modern Prose in the New Chinese Literature": Although Zhu Ziqing is a poet, his prose can still be full of that kind of poetry.
It should be said that this is a very incisive evaluation of Zhu Ziqing's prose art.

In this "hymn to spring", which is "full of poetry", it is in fact full of the writer's thoughts and emotions in a specific period, the pursuit of life and personality, and expresses the traditional cultural accumulation in the writer's bones and his yearning for freedom.

The style of Zhu Ziqing's works
The author is good at blending emotions into the scene and lyricism, for example, in "Moonlight on the Lotus Pond", the scenery of the lotus pond under the light gauze reflects the author's subtle thoughts at that time. The author writes the scenery with the feelings, and sets off the feelings with the scenes, which not only makes the work have the beauty of painting, but also the beauty of the artistic conception.
Zhu Ziqing loves classical poetry and is very familiar with classical poetry. When he writes prose, he can easily integrate the artistic conception of poetry with the artistic conception of prose, and create a poetic and picturesque realm in prose.
Zhu Ziqing also often uses anthropomorphic rhetorical techniques in his prose to bring "quiet" scenes to life, for example, "Spring" writes that "the grass secretly comes out of the soil".
Most of Zhu Ziqing's prose is short and ingenious. "Back" is very plain in terms of writing, narrative, and lyricism, but it is pregnant with exquisite ideas in the plainness.
