Biography. White (?.)257 BC), a famous general of the Qin State during the Warring States period.
It is also known as Gongsun Qi. A native of Yi (now east of Meixian County, Shaanxi). Because of his good relationship with Qin Xiang Wei Ran, in the thirteenth year of King Qin Zhao (294 BC), he was recommended by Ran and was appointed as the head of the left house.
In the following year, Bai Qi was the left watchman, broke the Han and Wei coalition forces in Yique (now Longmen, southeast of Luoyang, Henan), beheaded 240,000, so he moved to the national lieutenant. In the next year, it was promoted to Daliangzao. In the twenty-eighth year, Bai Qi attacked Chu, Bayan (now southeast of Yicheng, Hubei) and other cities.
In the following year, the capital of Chu was drawn to Ying, (northwest of present-day Jiangling, Hubei), so Qin set up Nanjun, and Chu was forced to move eastward to Chen (present-day Huaiyang, Henan), and Bai Qi was named Wu'anjun for his merits. In the thirty-fourth year, Bai Qi defeated the allied forces of Zhao and Wei in Huayang (now south of Zhengzhou, Henan) and beheaded 150,000. In the forty-seventh year of the Battle of Changping, Bai Qi broke the Zhao army and killed more than 400,000 Zhao soldiers.
After the war, Bai Qi advocated taking advantage of the victory to march and break through the Zhao State, but because Qin Prime Minister Fan Ju was jealous of his great achievements, he finally allowed Han and Zhao to sue for peace and quit the army. Bai Qi therefore has a gap with Fan Ju. In the forty-ninth year, Qin sent troops to besiege Handan and failed, and the king of Qin personally ordered Bai Qi to be the chief general of the siege of Handan.
Bai Qi thought that he had failed to take advantage of Changping's victory to encircle Zhao and lost the fighter plane, and that the siege of Handan would be defeated in vain, so he couldn't do it. Later, King Zhao of Qin and Fan Ju deposed Bai Qi as a soldier and forced him to move out of Xianyang. Bai Qi traveled to Duyou (now northeast of Xianyang, Shaanxi) and was forced by the King of Qin to commit suicide.

The Battle of Changping severely damaged the main force of Zhao.
He served as the chief general of the Qin army for more than 30 years, attacked more than 70 cities, made great contributions to the unification of the six countries of Qin, and was named Wu'anjun.
