Masculine atmosphere is the first characteristic of Lao Jia's works. There are only a few people who can really be called painters in an era, and the maturity of style is a sign of a mature painter, and many painters can't do this. Many painters don't know what to express, thinking that painting landscapes is to paint a few mountains and trees, and to paint cows and horses is to paint cows and horses, but in fact, painting is to express something.
For example, Lao Jia's paintings are expressive and powerful; Xu Beihong's horse shows the demeanor of an ancient gentleman; Li Keran's landscape performance is majestic and heavy; Qi Baishi's paintings are elegant and tranquil, so that they can be called the expression of painters. Because a person's temperament and sustenance should be seen in the painting. I am now editing the book "Commenting on Modern Masters and Everyone" for Jiangsu Fine Arts Publishing House, and there are very few people who are still living, among which there are Lao Jia's paintings, which are modern, national, and personal according to my selection criteria.
The second criterion for my selection of paintings was the outstanding artistic style, height and depth. Height is to have cultural connotation, depth is high expressiveness (mainly skills), these two sets of standards are in line with Lao Jia.
Each of Mr. Jia's paintings exudes an aesthetic shock. Nowadays, there are very few paintings that can really brighten my eyes and move my heart, but Mr. Jia's paintings made me feel calm for a long time after reading them. Lao Jia's paintings are concise, simple and spacious, which is a kind of Huang Zhong Dalu's art.
I realized the magnanimity of life from Mr. Jia's paintings. I feel that in addition to strength and potential, there is also a kind of qi in Mr. Jia's paintings, that is, the spirit of the wilderness, the spirit of heroism, the spirit of blood, and the energy of agility. Mr. Jia's portrait is the same, using a very concise artistic language to express a strong life and a natural affinity.
Lao Jia grew up at the foot of Yan Mountain, from the essence of his life, it is the secluded Yan Mountain, the vast Bohai Sea, and the ancient Great Wall that nourish Lao Jia's flesh and soul; It is this piece of earth veins and earth qi. This side of the water and soil gave birth to Lao Jia, gave birth to Lao Jia's paintings, gave birth to the spirit of Lao Jia's paintings, Mr. Lao Jia's painting "Open Heaven and Earth", can make people feel the sound of the mountains cracking, and the painting of horses makes people seem to hear the sound of horses, which is Mr. Jia's excellence. Lao Jia's paintings, like drinking spirits, have a great taste.
Not only is it extreme, but it also has a lingering aftertaste, which can withstand the product. Look at the horse, the cow, the plum, the peony, the child ......Is that a horse? Is it a cow?
Is it a flower or a person? ......Yes and no. You say no, obviously yes, they all say that it is more true than that; You say yes, obviously not, who has ever seen such horses and cows, such plants and trees?
This is the power of God. The ancients said that "Danqing is difficult to write is spiritual", and also said that "the origin of the attitude cannot be painted", but Lao Jia painted it, and Lao Jia depicted the god of things and the true nature of things, extending the reader's artistic imagination, deepening the reader's philosophical thinking, and helping the reader complete their dreams. Therefore, Lao Jia's paintings have the artistic effect of "one Hamlet".
Masculine? Of course, because Lao Jia's theme itself is masculine: galloping horses, untamed cows, boys and the sun, and so on.

They are: Yu Changjiang, Yang Xian, and Ma Limin from Beijing, Qian Zongfei, Bai Yefu, Zhang Yongqiang, and Dai Kui from Hebei, Chen Rong from Inner Mongolia, Wei Dezhang from Shandong, Wang Qingjian from Henan, Li Zhiqin from Gansu, and Liang Yonggui from Ningxia. Among them are art teachers, cadres of art and cultural centers, as well as professional painters and senior artists of the National Professional Painting Academy.
These painters have many similarities in terms of artistic ideals and aesthetic tastes, but their common beliefs and pursuits have not led to the similarity of artistic language and style, and they still maintain their own characteristics in terms of aesthetic perspectives, creative themes, and methods of expression.

In recent years, the works of these painters have frequently participated in national, provincial and municipal art exhibitions and won many awards, the most prominent of which is the long scroll of "Militia Historical Paintings" created by Yu Changjiang, Chen Feng and Qian Zongfei, which participated in the 9th National Art Exhibition and won the gold medal. With the development of contemporary art, every painter is in a kind of network, a diversified art pattern. In addition to their own need for continuous and in-depth individualized creation, painters also seem to need a kind of synergy, a kind of mutual influence, mutual promotion and mutual promotion of the power of the group.
From a certain point of view, it is precisely in the network, pattern and atmosphere of the group that personalized artistic creation can be continuously developed, perfected and matured. The overall atmosphere formed by an artistic creation group often has a special force and subtle influence on the individual's aesthetic perception and exploration of form and language. Walking into the Laojia Art Museum, a wide grassland, natural strange stones, accompanied by the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers, first showed people that this is a pure land of art, and the large reliefs outside the museum and in front of the exhibition hall are more revealing a strong freehand taste. Walking further through the imposing stone pillars to reach the spacious and bright exhibition hall, straight to the point of several dividing lines, high walls, no traces of decoration, 300 square meters of exhibition hall and Lao Jia's freehand works corresponding to the interesting, there is an indescribable sense of both modern and Chinese. As the German art critic Fetina said, Lao Jia is a painter who is deeply rooted in the classical tradition, grasps the traditional techniques and is very modern, a painter who knows how to express power and movement, confrontation and stillness, joy and pain, coercion and shock, and now he has successfully brought his momentum to his art museum.

But do we feel the same thing from this? Even I felt that he still had a feminine beauty here, that kind of charm hidden in the depths of masculinity that can only be understood and cannot be spoken. Otherwise, Lao Jia's paintings wouldn't be so good-looking.
Don't you feel that the old horse has some kind of intrinsic connection with the beauty? It is in this sense that I say that Lao Jia's paintings help readers fulfill their dreams. Art that can continue and extend the dreams of others is a great art.
This art itself is also a dream, a second nature, a poetic dwelling. The object of all depictions is nothing more than a vehicle for dreams. Everyone has dreams, but Lao Jia's dreams are more chaotic, more atmospheric, and more meteorological; Everyone wants to have dreams, so we are intoxicated by Lao Jia's dreams.
