Later, the moon taught the father of the sun the rituals and taboos of various festivals, such as: do not be greedy for sweets during hunting and sowing sacrifices, otherwise there will be a famine or you will not be able to shoot the prey; At the time of the full moon, a child sacrifice is held, otherwise the child will become ill and die. When my father returned to the tribe, he began to teach the people about the sacrifices, and by the time they had learned all the rituals of the sacrifices, the orange tree had grown into a large tree.

Therefore, several communities of the Bunun people will use orange leaves as sacrificial vessels when performing rituals.

Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a son named "Muren". He is a good Buddha by nature and a kind person. Very filial to his mother, but, the mother of Mulian, as a mother, is violent by nature, and likes and dislikes.

When Muren learned about this, he persuaded his mother not to listen, and hurriedly called someone to inform the abbot of the temple. The abbot prepared 360 vegetarian steamed buns.

Hidden in the sleeve of each monk's robe. The mother of Mulian came to fasting and gave each monk a dog meat steamed bun. When the monk chanted the Buddha before the meal, he used the vegetarian steamed bun in his sleeve to change the dog meat steamed bun and then ate it.

Seeing that the monks had eaten her steamed buns one by one, Mulian's mother clapped her hands and laughed and said, "The monk is dizzy today!" The monk eats dog meat steamed buns!

The abbot clasped his hands together and chanted in a loud voice: "Amitabha, sin, sin!" Afterwards, 360 dog meat steamed buns were buried in soil at the back of the temple.

When the Heavenly Jade Emperor found out about this, he was very angry. Knock the Mother of Mulian into the eighteenth layer of hell and turn her into a vicious dog, and she will never be able to be reborn.

Meren is a dutiful son, and he learns that his mother has gone to hell. He practiced day and night, and finally became the Jizo Bodhisattva. To save his mother, he opened the gates of hell with a tin rod.

The Mother of Muren and all the demons escaped from hell and were reborn in the mortal world. The Jade Emperor was furious, and he ordered Mu Lian to devote himself to the Yellow Nest. Later, "Huangchao killed 8 million", the legend is to collect these evil ghosts who escaped from hell.

After escaping from hell, the mother of Mulian became a vicious dog, because she hated the Jade Emperor very much, so she went to Heaven to find the Jade Emperor to settle accounts. She couldn't find the Jade Emperor in the sky, so she went after the sun and the moon, trying to devour them and turn the heavens and the earth into a dark world. This vicious dog chases day and night!

When she chased after the moon, she swallowed it in one gulp; Catch up with the sun and swallow it in one gulp. However, the vicious dog that the mother of Mulian turned into was most afraid of gongs and drums and firecrackers, and the sun and moon that were swallowed by the vicious dog had to spit it out. After the sun and moon were rescued, the sun and moon shone together again and ran again.

The vicious dog was unwilling to catch up again, and in this way the eclipses of the sun and the moon in the sky were formed again and again. Folk are called "tengu eat the sun" and "tengu eat the moon". Until now, during solar and lunar eclipses, many urban and rural people still spread the custom of beating gongs and drums and setting off firecrackers to drive away tengus.
