Olympic events.
In the history of the Olympic Games, there have been 35 sport, 53 disciplines and more than 400 events. The Summer Olympics include 28 sports and 38 sports, and the Winter Olympics include 7 events and 15 sports. In 1896, the first modern Olympic Games had only nine events, and if rowing had not been cancelled due to bad weather, the number of events in the first modern Olympic Games would have reached 10.
Since then, as the influence of the Olympics has continued to grow, it has grown in size and competition. By the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the number of events had increased to 28. In 2005, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided at the Singapore Plenary that London 2012 would feature only 26 sports, and that no more than 28 events would be held at any future Games.
This sends a signal that the "expansionism" that has lasted for decades in the modern Olympic Movement has come to an end. In 2007, the IOC adopted one more reform resolution:
From 2020 onwards, 25 core events will be identified for the Olympic Games, and these 25 events will be fixed at each subsequent Olympic Games, with up to three additional temporary events already. This means that after baseball and softball were "expelled", there is still one of the 28 Olympic sports to leave.

Designed in 1913, the Olympic Games (English: Olympic Games) is an international multi-sport event hosted by the International Olympic Committee, including the Summer Olympic Games, the Winter Olympic Games, the Youth Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games, the Hearing-Impaired Olympics and the Special Olympics.
The Olympic Games are held every four years (with three interruptions in the two world wars, in 1916, 1940 and 1944), and each session lasts no more than 16 days.
The Olympiad got its name from its origins in Olympia, ancient Greece. The ancient Olympic Games lasted 293 times, from 776 BC to 394 AD, and were later abolished by the Roman Emperor Theodosius I on charges of cult activities. The International Sports Conference, held in Paris in 1894, established the IOC on the initiative of the French aristocrat Pierre de Coubertin and decided to resume the Olympic Games.
The first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in Athens, Greece, in 1896 and have since been held alternately around the world. Since the establishment of the Winter Olympics in 1924, the Olympic Games are customarily referred to as the "Summer Olympics". The Olympic Games have now become a symbol of peace and friendship.
