On the premise of shutting down, find the same cable in your case as the interface on your hard disk, just a few safe to plug in, not the hard disk cable can't be plugged in. Connect a total of two cables to the hard disk. One is connected from the power supply and the other is connected from the motherboard.

The easiest way is to unplug the optical drive, plug in the hard drive, and OK immediately

You just need to install the original hard disk according to the original location, under or on, the hard disk you want to add is installed, there are at least two hard disk power supply ports on the power supply, plug it into the corresponding position of the hard disk, and then connect the data cable, the current motherboard has at least four SATA interfaces, next to the position where your original hard disk is connected to the motherboard.

There are hard disk brackets in the computer, and there are holes on the sides, and you can match the holes.

There will be a few more power cords in the case, just plug them in directly, you can't plug them in backwards, in fact, you can't plug them in.

Note that if you are installing a second hard drive, be sure to plug the second hard drive data cable into the blue data cable in the position shown in the figure, because the first one is primary, and the second is from.

Plug it in, turn it on, right-click on the computer or my computer, and you can see the new hard disk.

Connect the two hard disks with the corresponding data cables (500G may be serial port, 40G is parallel port), boot into the COMS --- in the boot device in the BIOS of the motherboard--- set the first boot device as a 40G hard disk, and then install the system.

You don't need to set up the master disk and the slave disk to mix IDE and SATA hard disk, you just need to set it to boot from IDE hard disk or SATA hard disk in the BIOS.

On the motherboard, the sata is divided into orders, and the position is indicated on the side of the hard disk interface of the motherboard, with 1 being the main position.
