The relationship between Luojia Mountain and Putuo Mountain is complementary to each other.
Luojia Mountain is in the southeast of Putuo Mountain, facing it across the sea, and Putuo Luojia is connected together in history. According to legend, the Guanyin monks of that year first cultivated themselves in Luojia Mountain, and then went to Putuo Mountain to open up the Guanyin Dojo, so in the old days, all the good men and women who came to Putuo to worship Guanyin must go to Luojia Mountain to incense.
Looking east from Putuo Mountain, Luojia Mountain stands alone in the sea, like a reclining Buddha lying in the sea in the lotus ocean. The forests on the mountain are lush, the wind is howling all day long, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant in all seasons, and there is a different world. From Putuo Mountain to Luojia Mountain, there are special boats to Luojia Mountain every morning and afternoon.
Although the two islands are not far from each other, the waves in the lotus ocean are turbulent, so there is a saying that "you must pass through twenty-four lotus waves to cross the other side". On the rugged reef on the mountain, there are three different ports in the south, west and north, and ships can choose to dock according to the direction of the wind.

In 1929, Wuhan University surveyed the new site in Luojia Mountain, and Wen Yiduo, one of the founding leaders, In view of the majestic mountains and rocks, the beautiful mountains, like a fairy's necklace, changed the word "Luojia" to "Luojia" according to the homonym, and "Luojia" symbolized the hard treasure jade, so as to indicate that Wuhan University was the highest university in the two lakes at that time, so the name of Luojia Mountain has been used to this day.
