It is very intuitive to distinguish whether the jadeite species is old or not, mainly through the visual effect, crystal structure and transparency.
The more delicate and compact the crystal structure, the higher the transparency, and the better the clarity, the older the species. On the contrary, if the structure is loose, the crystals are coarse, there are many impurities, and the permeability is poor, the more tender the species.

There are three methods that can be used to judge, namely the observation of the shell method, the water splashing assistance method, and the observation of the fog layer method.
1. Observe the skin shell method.
Carefully observe the sand grains (turned sand) on the weathered skin shell of the jadeite rough and feel its texture with your hands, if the sand grains are in an upright state, evenly distributed and hard, rough and piercing, then this is an old jadeite jade; On the contrary, if the sand grains are not protruding enough, the distribution is uneven, and the texture is soft and easy to fall off, then this is a tender jadeite jade.
2. Water splashing auxiliary method.
Pour a small amount of water on the shell of the jadeite rough, if the water penetrates quickly into the inside of the shell (the wet shell dries out quickly), then this is a tender jadeite; Conversely, if the water penetrates more slowly (the wet husk dries more slowly), then it is an old jadeite. The principle is mainly due to the different structural compactness of the old and young jadeite.
3. Observe the fog layer method.
Observe the fog layer close to the weathered shell of the jadeite rough at the jade incision, if the fog layer is relatively thin (about a finger wide or narrower), this is an old jadeite rough; If the fog layer is relatively thick (two fingers wide or more), it is a young jadeite rough.

The second criterion for judging the age of jadeite is whether the jade meat is delicate Under the same structural compactness, the more delicate the jade meat, the better the texture it shows, and we think that its species is better.
The surface density of the old jadeite is high, the trachoma is less, and the glass luster is very obvious. When reflecting the light, the surface density is not enough, and the potholes need to be smoothed by wax, so the reflected light is not concentrated enough, and it will show a certain diffuse reflection effect.
Look at the cotton 1) There are very few old jadeite cotton, and even if there is, the cotton is also in the form of subtle dots. 2) There are many new kinds of jade cotton, and they are also accompanied by a lot of things like ice slag.
Look at the cotton. There is generally cotton in jadeite, and the cotton of the old jadeite will be less molded in Wangzhou, and the distribution of cotton is mostly in the form of fine dots, while the cotton of the new jadeite is more than that of Lingchun. Look at fluorescence.
The old jadeite will fluoresce inside, and the luster is full and soft, while the new jadeite cannot see this transparent fluorescence. Look at the appearance.
The hardness is different: the hardness of the old jadeite is higher than that of the young jadeite.

To judge whether the jadeite species is old, you can start from the following four aspects:
Observation shell method: observe the thickness of the jadeite shell, the jadeite with a coarser shell has larger internal crystalline particles and relatively coarse germplasm. On the contrary, the skin shell is delicate and smooth, the internal crystalline particles are smaller, and the germplasm is more delicate.
Water splashing auxiliary method: observe the water beads in the incision part of the jadeite, if the water beads are very uniform and the beads are not condensed, it indicates that the jadeite species is older.
Observe the trachoma of jadeite: Observe the frosted surface of jadeite, if the sand grains are in an upright state, unevenly distributed, and rough and piercing, it is an old jadeite.
Look at the polished surface: Observe the polished surface of jadeite, the polished surface of the old jadeite is often very smooth, and the gloss is strong. On the contrary, the polished surface of the new jadeite is rougher, and the gloss is not strong.

Methods for judging the new and old jadeite species:
1. Look at the cotton. 1) There are very few old jadeite cotton, and even if there is, the cotton is also in the shape of fine dots.
2) There are many new varieties of jade cotton, and they are also accompanied by a lot of things like ice slag.
2. See if it is glued.
1) The old jadeite sometimes gives people a very transparent visual and at the same time feels that the flesh seems to contain gelatinous substance, which is evenly distributed and dissolved in the flesh. It gives people a very down-to-earth and connotative feeling.
2) The new species of jadeite will not gum.
3. Look at the fluorescence.
1) The old jadeite with good water sometimes feels that there is a kind of light emitting from the inside of the jadeite, which is soft and connotative.
2) The new species of jadeite has not yet seen the light.
The better and more delicate the planting, we call it old, and vice versa. The old species and the new species are actually an extension of the concept of the old pit and the new pit. Compared with the new species, the old species has a longer formation time, so the internal particles are more delicate, the structure is stable, and it is not easy to mutate.
In the case of white (colorless) jadeite, the real glass species (note, it must be a real glass species),**at least thousands, and some of the pendants in excellent condition** even go up to 5 or 6 digits, which is quite expensive! The ice jadeite is not as good as the glass species at the same time pay attention to germplasm and transparency, as long as the water head is enough, it can be called the ice species, so the colorless ice jadeite ** is generally in the hundreds of yuan and thousands of yuan. >>>More
Glutinous is a term in the jewelry industry, waxy refers to the delicacy of jadeite jade, species refers to the texture of jadeite jade materials, jadeite texture is fine that is, the species is older or older, and the jadeite texture crystal is coarse and loose, which is called tender. Because jadeite jade is a combination of polycrystals, it is vividly divided into glass species, ice species, egg white species, glutinous species, bean species, etc. - Encyclopedia >>>More
Both glass and ice jadeite have these differences!
Because the grade of this jadeite is not too high, a good jadeite will not be low-grade. However, waxy jadeite actually has many classifications, and some categories of waxy jadeite are also valuable. The quality of waxy jadeite is mainly judged by the color, undertone, and degree of imperfections. >>>More
