Bai Juyi (772 846), known as Lotte, Xiangshan Jushi, also known as Mr. Drunken Yin, was a native of Xinzheng, Bidawu, Henan (now Xinzheng City, Zhengzhou, Henan), a great realist poet of the Tang Dynasty in China and one of the three major poets of the Tang Dynasty. In the first month of the seventh year of the Tang Dynasty (772), Bai Juyi was born in Dongguo Zhai, Xinzheng, Zhengzhou (now Dongguosi Village, Xinzheng City). Bai's ancestral home was Taiyuan, Shanxi, and Bai Juyi's grandfather, Bai Qi, moved to Xiatai (now north of Weinan City, Shaanxi).
