The classification of wire film includes: PVC wire film, PET wire film, PETG copolymer film, and OPS film.

In general, the PTFE film that can be wrapped on wires and cables is mainly divided into two categories, one type of low-density PTFE film that is wound in the inner layer as an insulating medium, and the density is generally around; The other type is the high-density PTFE film wrapped around the outer layer as an insulating sheath, and the density is generally around the limit, and it can usually be made into a color film to distinguish it.

PTFE film and PVC film are completely different materials.

The PTFE film produced by Tiansu Technology Center can be roughly divided into two categories, one is the PTFE wrapping tape made of dispersed resin, and the low-density PTFE wrapping tape can be used as an insulation layer for communication cables and RF coaxial cables, which has the advantages of good insulation effect, corrosion resistance, high and low temperature resistance and low dielectric loss. The high-density PTFE wrapping tape can be made into a variety of bright colors such as white, red, blue, green, black, etc., and is often used as a sheath for cables;

The other type is PTFE directional film made of suspended resin, which has a small thickness and is often used in small-section military lines, and has excellent electrical breakdown performance.

PTFE film wrapping is one of the insulation structure processing forms of PTFE insulated wires and cables, and the use of PTFE to wrap wires and cables is due to its excellent electrical insulation, chemical stability, and the unique properties of temperature resistance and wide frequency range.

Suspended PTFE resin is a large white powder with different particles that can be properly treated to obtain powders with different particles. This powdered resin is suitable for molding and calendering, but cannot be used directly in the production of wires and cables. When used as cable insulation, the suspended PTFE should be molded, sintered into a cylindrical blank, and then pressed by a turning roller, this film is also known as clinker tape, which can be used for power supply line cable wrapping insulation.

After rolling, the thickness is less than millimeters, and the orientation degree is above the directional film; The degree of orientation is between semi-directional or partially oriented films; It is an unoriented film that is not rolled and pressed.

Orientation refers to the shrinkage of the film after heating. The film has a degree of orientation (shrinkage) in order to use the shrinkage pressure during melting to achieve tight bonding between the wrapping insulation layers during sintering. For insulated installation wires with thin insulation thickness, PTFE film with orientation is required, and wrapping films are generally thinner and narrower, so in order to make the film have a certain mechanical strength and be easy to sinter during sintering, it is necessary to choose a film with a large degree of orientation.

However, films that are too highly oriented require higher temperatures during sintering, which improves mechanical strength, but leads to the formation of PTFE decomposition products and the difficulty of sintering films. Therefore, for PTFE insulated RF coaxial cables with thick insulation, it is necessary to use a thin film with a thickness of about millimeters to wrap to obtain the required insulation thickness. However, if a film that is too qualitative is used, it will cause the entire insulation to crack; If a method of reducing the sintering temperature is used, the sintering will not be able to fuse between the film layers, and the sintering will not be firm.

Therefore, the films used must have appropriate quantitative requirements. In order to make the film shrink appropriately and sinter easily, the orientation of the wrapping film of the cable with thick insulation thickness should be selected as the most appropriate.
