Hello, if there are still fault codes after replacing the camshaft position sensor, it is recommended to check whether other related components and control circuits are normal.

    Hope it helps!

The role and principle of the camshaft position sensor.

Automotive new energy, mechanical and electrical maintenance, sheet metal spray beauty and other training schools.

Camshaft position sensor is a sensing device, also known as synchronous signal sensor, it is a cylinder discriminating positioning device, input camshaft position signal to ECU, is the main control signal of ignition control.

The Camshaft Position Sensor (CPS) is used to collect the camshaft motion angle signal and input it into the electronic control unit (ECU) to determine the ignition time and fuel injection time. Camshaft position sensor (CPS) is also known as cylinder identification sensor (CIS), in order to distinguish it from crankshaft position sensor (CPS), camshaft position sensor is generally represented by CIS. The function of the camshaft position sensor is to collect the position signal of the valve camshaft and input it into the ECU, so that the ECU can identify the top dead center of cylinder 1 compression, so as to carry out sequential fuel injection control, ignition time control and deflagration control.

In addition, the camshaft position signal is used to identify the first moment of ignition when the engine is started. Because the camshaft position sensor is able to identify which cylinder piston is about to reach the top dead center, it is called a cylinder recognition sensor.

Hello! This situation can be a problem caused by incorrect valve timing. If the signal cannot be detected by replacing the new sensor, or there is a fault code, you can use the decoder to clear the fault code king first, and then read the data. Hope!

The computer detects that the camshaft position sensor signal is not clear, in addition to the failure of the camshaft position sensor itself, if the ignition timing is not right, this fault will also occur, and after the fault code is cleared, the car will appear again.

Check the circuit of the camshaft position sensor, and then check the cam sensed by the camshaft sensor, because the cam is inlaid on the camshaft, if it is loose and displaced, it will not be able to sense it and there will be a fault, but this situation is rare, you check it first.

Mine is also this problem.,Replace the two sensors and put it on for a while.,Put it in the 4S store today.,Find out the problem and tell you.,As a reference.。

There is a good chance that there is a timing problem.

The fault is that the synchronization signal is incorrect.

Why did you replace the camshaft position sensor before? Find out why here. Also, whether this new camshaft position sensor is correct.

After changing, you should use a decoder to clear the fault code first. If it cannot be cleared, perform the following checks.

First check that the timing belt is not misfitted.

Then check the wiring: the camshaft position sensor has 3 wires, which are the power supply 5 volt (turn on the ignition switch), the negative pole of the sensor, and the output signal. Use a test lamp to see if the 5V power supply on the positive side of the sensor is a virtual power.

The 3 wires are all leading to the ECU of the engine, disconnect the negative pole of the battery and unplug the ECU plug, and use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the 3 wires from the sensor plug to the ECU plug, and the resistance value shall not be greater than that and then check whether there is a short circuit.

If the above check is normal, use the light-emitting diode test lamp to connect one end to the negative end of the sensor and the other end to the output signal (the ECU, the sensor, and the negative end of the battery are fully installed), start the engine, and the test light should flash at this time.

If it doesn't flash, there is a chance that the sensor is bad (a new one is not necessarily good), or that the signal blades on the back of the camshaft gear are broken off (which is very unlikely).

If the flash is supposed to be ECU fault.

One more thing to note is that the Jetta in '07 should be two-valve. If it is a five-valve Jetta, it is also necessary to check whether the camshaft chain is installed correctly, align the mark, and there should be 16 links between the two camshaft sprocket markings.

This method is also suitable for the detection of camshaft position sensors of Santana 2000 and Passat.

It may be that the fault code in the detector has not been cleared.

That's the timing of the belt is not right!!

  14. Anonymous users2024-02-02

Because the camshaft position sensor is a kind of signal sensor! Detect the position of the camshaft and send a signal to the computer! The computer adjusts the ignition timing and ignition advance angle according to the camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, etc.!

It belongs to the range of engine operation after starting! And the start is just after driving the engine to run normally! Starter doesn't work!

Starters are not part of engine work!

The car can't start, there are many reasons, such as the ignition system is a problem, the gasoline is a problem, the gasoline road is a problem, of course, it may be that there is a problem with the camshaft position sensor you said, so it is best to go to the 4S shop to test it for professional maintenance personnel.
