Introduction: The international standard Latin dance also refers to sports dance, which is divided into five dances: rumba, cha cha, cowboy, samba and bullfighting. The following is a summary of the basic steps I have compiled for the Latin Dance of Cha Cha. Welcome to read!
- Exactly
Cha Cha's dance steps are derived from jazz, the first beat of the crotch, the second beat of the feet, similar to the training of rumba. In the overall dance behavior, it is reminded to pay attention to the twisting of the waist and hips.
It is precisely the rhythm of the hip that is exercised, from the front to the side. The basic dance steps always maintain the center of gravity characteristics of the jazz step, that is, the center of gravity is straight'on that leg, so that you can jump out of the tight and sharp step. The movement of its feet is very important, and when there is no center of gravity after stepping up, the soles of the feet will collapse and the instep will be pushed up.
Cuba breaks the step
Preparatory movement: The center of gravity of the right foot, the left foot open.
Step 1, step forward with your left foot diagonally, turn your toes outward, center of gravity between your feet, heel off the ground with your right leg behind you, and your knee resting on your left foot.
Step 2: Change the center of gravity of the right foot to the right foot.
Step 3, come back with your left foot.
Change the direction of the scum, step up diagonally with your right foot, and do the same movement.
Rhythm and beats: cha cha one, cha cha one.
Upper body movement: When stepping up with the left foot, press the abdomen with the right hand and extend the left hand.
When stepping up with your right foot, press your abdomen with your left hand and extend your right hand.
It is also possible to contract with one hand and extend with the other.
The rhythm of the Cuban break step is different from the time step, but the direct jump "cha cha one". To learn this movement, it must be emphasized that when stepping up, the thighs are clamped, the center of gravity is between the legs, there must be a reflexive action, the body and the feet are in the opposite direction, and the upper body and feet need to cooperate. When the right shoulder is forward, the left foot is out, and when the left shoulder is forward, the right foot is out.
The knee of the back foot must touch the back knee of the front foot. Otherwise, it will be difficult to learn this movement well.
New York Step
The center of gravity of the first step of the New York step is completely placed on the main leg, the center of gravity is between the two feet, forming a semi-center of gravity, and there is a 1 16 outward opening when stepping up.
Preparatory movement: The center of gravity of the right foot, the left foot is opened, the ball of the foot is on the ground, and the instep is straightened.
Step 1: Turn your left foot 90° to the right, rest your right knee on your left knee, and open your right hand upwards with your palm facing down.
Step 2: Change the center of gravity with your right foot in place.
Step 3: Turn your left foot back and turn 90° to the left.
Step 4: Step with your right foot and your left foot.
Step 5: Continue to move your left foot to the left, open your right foot so that the sole of your foot hits the ground and the instep straightens.
Switch to the right foot and do the same.
Rhythm and number of beats: 1 beat, 1 beat, half beat, half beat, 1 beat. (two three cha one).
Upper body movement: When you put your left foot up, extend your left hand forward, open your right hand diagonally to the right and upward, pay attention to the back shoulders to press, raise your head up, and face down with your palms down. When the left foot comes back, the hand that extends forward can be forcefully scooped up.
The New York step has three directions of turning, one to the left 1 4 turns, one to the right 1 4 turns, and then back to the center.
After these 6 movements are proficient, you can jump in tandem. At the end, you can do a styling move. If you cross the body with your left foot, turn 180° to the right, stretch your right hand upwards to the right, palm down, press your abdomen with your left hand, and lunge with your right foot.

One of the most important aspects of Latin dancing is the basic steps, which seem to be relatively simple, but they require daily practice to reach the desired level.
Leg presses can increase the flexibility of the body.
The general leg press includes the straightening leg press, the side leg press and the back leg press, the positive leg press is to put the left leg on the leg press railing or high platform in the dance room, lean forward, you can press the leg forward or downward, gradually increase the strength, and use the elbow, forehead and even the jaw in turn according to your own flexibility.
Touching the toes can reduce the force at first, and then gradually strengthen it.
The side press leg is the right leg support, the left leg is placed on top of the support, the toes are hooked, the right arm is raised, the waist is erected, and the hip is open.
The back leg press is to lift the left leg with the back to the leg press bar, and the instep of the foot.
Rest on the pole and hold the object with a certain height with both hands for support, alternating between the left and right legs.
The basic skills of Latin dance are also split, which is divided into horizontal splitting and vertical splitting, splitting is a stage of training ligament flexibility is more advanced, and the horizontal splitting is to separate the left and right legs into a zigzag, the upper body is straight, and press down until the left and right legs are separated into a straight line. The vertical split fork is to form a zigzag after separating the feet, and the method of pressing down is the same.
The lower back is also one of the basic skills of Latin dance, which is divided into two main parts: bending down and kneeling down when practicing, the back bend is to put both sides of the waist with both hands, slowly prop up and then fall, kneel down is to put the legs on the knee on the ground, stand up with the arms, put the hands above the head and put it back, and slowly bend backwards.
