Wegener's story.
In 1906, Wegener joined the famous Danish expedition to Greenland to conduct meteorological and glacial surveys. In order to find more evidence, in April 1930, Wegener led an expedition to Greenland for the fourth time in the face of the Arctic blizzard. On November 1, he ventured back to the West Coast base after celebrating his 50th birthday.
In the white ice and snow, he lost his trace. His body was not found until April of the following year. He froze like a stone and became one with the glacier.
Magellan's story.
In 1519, Magellan was ordered by the King of Spain to lead an expedition to find the Spice Islands to the East Indies, a peaceful journey across the Atlantic to Brazil, but the situation began to deteriorate. One of the ships in the fleet was wrecked in a storm. Several captains then conspired against him.
A ship turned around and went home. Magellan put one of the rebels to death and left the other two on a deserted beach, and set sail. When the flotilla arrived in the Mariana Islands, the local population attacked them.
In an engagement with the tribes on Mactan Island in the Philippines, Magellan was killed. His death deprived Magellan of the opportunity to become the world's first explorer to complete a circumnavigation of the globe.
Rod Amundsen: Reach the South Pole.
Expedition Results: The first to reach Antarctica.
On his way to the North Pole, Rod Amundsen suddenly decided to go to the South Pole. Because he thinks it's "cooler" to be the first person to reach the South Pole than to look at the land that has already been developed. "I will prevail over you there!
Amundsen passed the news on to his competitor, the explorer Robert Scott, who was on his way to the South Pole.
In the coldest part of the world, Amundsen glides on a sleigh on a dog across the snow-covered wasteland. It turned out to be a brilliant idea. Because, Scott chose the pony as a means of transportation, and it turned out to be terrible, and the horse's hooves kept slipping on the snow.
In the end, Amundsen arrived at the South Pole four weeks earlier than Scott.
Robert Pearsy: Reaching the North Pole.
Expedition Results: First to reach the North Pole.
Robert Pearson headed north with his trusted companion Mather Hansen (another gifted explorer) and four other team members. On their way to the North Pole, they shoveled 15-meter-high ice peaks, endured extreme cold weather, and encountered a vast fog that seemed to be black smoke from the entire North American prairie.
When they finally reach the North Pole, a ragged Pirry is thrilled, waving an American flag that his wife has hand-sewn and truly feels like he's on top of the world.
