Cangjie, also known as Cangjie, was the historian of the Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor. He once collected, sorted out and used the words that circulated among the ancestors, played an important role in the process of creating Chinese characters, and made immortal contributions to the reproduction and prosperity of the Chinese nation. He was revered as a "word-making saint" by later generations.

Cangjie is one of the most important characters in ancient Chinese myths and legends, and legend has it that he studied the 28 Chinese characters of the earliest Tan Brigade based on the hoof prints of wild beasts.

There are two main contents of "Cangjie Characters":

1. According to legend, Cangjie was an official under the Yellow Emperor. The Yellow Emperor asked him to take care of the food and stuff of the animals. But there was no writing at the time, so it was impossible to record it.

It's very difficult to manage. Cangjie came up with primitive counting methods such as knotting. Later, it turned out that these methods did not work well.

During a hunting trip, Cangjie found that experienced hunters could judge which animal it was by its footprints. Cangjie was inspired by this, so he drew something to represent things, and in this way, Cangjie began to make characters.

2. After Cangjie made words, because his credit was very large, he began to be arrogant. In the process of teaching others, I often teach the wrong words because of negligence. The Yellow Emperor was very angry when he found out, so he sent an old man to remind Cangjie and make him realize his mistake.

After some teachings from the old man, Cangjie changed his past mistakes and began to teach words seriously.

Cangjie Character Creation is one of the ancient Chinese myths and legends, and the place where Cangjie made characters is called "Phoenix Title Desk". From "Huainanzi Benjingxun": "The former Cangjie wrote books, and the sky rained, and the ghosts cried at night.

Cangjie, known as Cangjie, surnamed Hou Gang, and known as Shi Huang, once collected, sorted, standardized and used the words that circulated among the ancestors, played an important role in the process of creating Chinese characters, and made immortal contributions to the inheritance of Chinese civilization. "Ming Yi Tongzhi Character Antiquity" also recorded:

There are many relics commemorating Cangjie in the country, including Cangjie characters, word making platforms, Cangjie Mausoleum, Cangjie Temple, etc. Among the many Cangjie and relics, there are four that were built in the Han Dynasty: Nanle, Henan, Yucheng, Kaifeng and Luonan, Shaanxi. Cangjie is made from the footprints of birds.

Legend has it that Cangjie was the historian of the Yellow Emperor, and after the Yellow Emperor unified China, he felt that the method of knotting the rope was far from satisfying the internal demand, so he ordered his historian Cangjie to find a way to make words. So, Cangjie built a house on a high platform on the south bank of the Weishui River at that time and lived down, and devoted himself to making characters. However, he pondered for a long time and could not come up with words.

Coincidentally, one day, when Cangjie was thinking, he saw a phoenix flying in the sky, and a thing in his mouth fell down, just in front of Cangjie, Cangjie picked it up, and saw that there was a hoof print on it, but Cangjie couldn't identify what the beast's hoof print, so he asked a hunter who happened to come. The hunter looked at it and said, "This is the hoof print of Pixiu, which is different from the hoof print of other beasts, and I know the hoof print of other beasts."

Cangjie listened to the hunter's words and was inspired. He thinks that everything has its own characteristics, and if you can grasp the characteristics of things and draw an image, everyone can recognize them, isn't this just words?

Since then, Cangjie has carefully observed the characteristics of various things, such as the sun, moon, stars, clouds, mountains, rivers, lakes, seas, as well as various birds and animals, and applied utensils, and according to their characteristics, he drew figures and created many pictographs. In this way, over time, there are more words made by Cangjie. Cangjie dedicated these pictographs he made to the Yellow Emperor, and the Yellow Emperor was very happy, and immediately summoned the chiefs of Kyushu and asked Cangjie to teach them the characters he made, so these pictographs began to be used.

Question 1: What kind of script is the character created by Cangjie Hieroglyphs.

Hieroglyphic is derived from pictorial writing, and is the most primitive method of character creation, with a weakened pictorial nature and an enhanced symbolic nature. Because the contribution of Cangjie characters is so great, the legends and relics about Cangjie characters are scattered in many places in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. Among them, Dong'er Village in Linfen, which is now Xizhao Village in Yaomiao Town, has a wide influence. It is said that since the Han and Tang Dynasties, there has been a Cangjie ancestral hall in the village, called the "Cangjie Holy Temple", and sacrificial activities are carried out every spring.

The temple has more than 400 houses, two compartments in the ancestral hall, one side is the Chongwen Hall, the other side is Peiying Yizhuang, and the township meeting is held here. In the Qing Dynasty, after this ancestral hall was burned down, three more ancestral halls were built. In the forty-ninth year of Qianlong (1784), Linfen County Order, Li Zaorong of Hejian built a stele pavilion next to the Cangjie Temple, and the stele was written with five Yin engraved block letters.

Now the ancestral hall has been destroyed, and the stele is stored in the Yao Temple. According to local legend, Cangjie was inspired by the story of hunters hunting according to the footprints of tigers, wolves, cows, and sheep, and created hieroglyphs. There is a tablet of Cangjie's hometown in the south of the city today. This is enough to confirm that Xizhao Village is either Cangjie's hometown or Cangjie's place of wordmaking.

Moreover, the Cangjie character itself is only a legend, and there are no archaeological discoveries to confirm its authenticity.
