According to legend, the reason why Zhu Yuanzhang was able to become the emperor was because his grandfather seized a piece of feng shui treasure.
It is said that Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather lived in a place called Yangjiadun at that time. One day, when Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather was resting, two Taoist priests (one old and one young) suddenly passed by his door, and the conversation between the two happened to be overheard by Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather. One of the old Taoist priests said:
I can tell that this is the legendary dragon's eye, and this piece of land gathers the aura of heaven and earth. If a tomb can be built here, there will be an emperor who will rule the world among the descendants of this person buried here.
The little Taoist priest didn't believe it, so the old Taoist priest inserted a branch there and said to the little Taoist priest: Ten days later, this branch will definitely sprout. At this time, they saw Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather who was pretending to be asleep, and they were going to tell him, but they didn't wake him up when they saw that he seemed to be asleep.
Ten days later, the branch really sprouted. Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather was very happy when he found out, but he was afraid that others would know the secret, so he replaced the branches.
A few days later, two Taoist priests came to inspect the branches. The old Taoist priest saw at a glance that the branches had been replaced, so he went to ask Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather. Grandpa Zhu Yuanzhang couldn't hide it, so he told the truth.
The old Taoist priest sighed and said: Originally, your son could be the emperor, but because your behavior leaked the dragon qi, it was not until your grandson could be the emperor.
Later, before Zhu Yuanzhang's grandfather died. He ordered his son to bury him in what he had called the Feng Shui treasure at that time.

In 1367, he ordered Xu Da and Chang Yuchun to "expel Hulu and restore China" as a call to the Northern Expedition to the Central Plains, ending the rule of Meng Yuan in China and recovering the 16 states of Yanyun that had been lost for 400 years. In 1368, Zhu Yuanzhang officially proclaimed himself emperor in Yingtianfu, changed the country name to Daming, and the year name Hongwu.
After several years of hard work, China was finally unified peacefully.
