So if you want to keep a water snake as a pet, what do you need to pay attention to?

There are many types of snakes, and the appearance and temperament of each snake are also different. Some snakes are colorful and have colorful appearances, which are very ornamental, so they are sought after by many players. The water snake belongs to the species with relatively good appearance and relatively tenacious vitality.

As long as it is given a place with water, land and food, it will be able to survive. So in its living environment, water plays quite an important role. If we want to keep a pet water snake, we should provide it with plenty of water and clean water.

If it is in the summer, the temperature is relatively high, and the water will be more likely to produce some rotten and spoiled ingredients, so we should clean the water frequently. Almost every week to two weeks, a change of water is fine. This prevents bacteria from entering the snake's body and causing physical harm to our pet snake, causing its death.

It prefers to eat frogs or yellow eels and the like, and when we provide it with food, we must ensure that the food is varied. Because of the variety of foods, it can be able to absorb enough and variety of nutrients. Snakes can go without food for a long time, but as pet snakes, it is better to provide food regularly.

Pet snakes that eat and drink well will be more ornamental in shape and appearance.

We all know that snakes prefer to swallow food, so when it is devouring food, we try not to disturb it and not to frighten it. If you disturb it while it is devouring food, it can do a lot of damage to its appetite. Pet water snakes like a quiet environment, we just need to watch quietly, don't "bother" it like a cat and a dog.

There should be plenty of water and regular disinfection. Water snakes eat a large amount of food, and should be regularly fed small fish and shrimp, loaches and so on. The water snake likes to be quiet, try not to disturb it after feeding.

First, the living environment, the breeding process must maintain sufficient and clean water. Second, the diet should be regularly stocked with freshwater trash fish that are easier to catch.

1. Select the variety. It is recommended to start raising pet snakes for novices with colorful, non-venomous, and smaller snakes such as corn snakes. Highly venomous snakes, such as cobras, spearhead pitpers, rattlesnakes, Taipan snakes and other highly venomous snakes are absolutely not recommended to keep.

Similarly, it is not recommended to keep huge pythons and pythons. Leaving aside the legal issues (these venomous snakes are generally protected by the state), the main thing is that these snakes can pose a threat to your life. For beginners, it is recommended to raise corn snakes and ball pythons.

2. Use a closed vivarium. Choosing a breeding box is also a science, if you don't need to be too troublesome, you can make it yourself (cut a large hole in the sorting box, close it with fine barbed wire), and if the economic conditions are good, you can buy a professional snake breeding incubator. But in any case, the box needs to be closed.

This is also for the sake of safety, after all, snakes are not the type of pet that can be kept free-range.

3. Control the temperature. Snakes are cold-blooded, so they generally need an external heat source to regulate their body temperature. When the temperature drops below 15 degrees, the snakes start to stop eating, and when the temperature drops below 10 degrees, the snakes begin to hibernate.

Therefore, in order for the pet to be lively, a heating pad or incubator is necessary.

4. Humidity. For snakes, humidity is also important. Most snakes are amphibian, so the vast majority of them require high humidity.

Humidity has a huge impact on whether most snakes are able to molt smoothly. However, too high humidity is easy to breed bacteria, leading to snake diseases. Therefore, controlling humidity is also a big science.

5. Feeding. For snakes, feeding is a hassle-free affair. Depending on the body type, it can generally be fed once a week.

Try to feed live animals that are safe (live animals are easy for snakes to prey on, and they may carry fewer germs), and pet snakes that are not large can be fed to mouse pups purchased in animal laboratories.

6. Parasites. This is particularly noteworthy, most of the pet snakes die violently because they are infected with parasites. For snakes, in addition to the ** infection of parasites and ** chance, parasites in other parts can be said to be fatal, so how to prevent parasites is also a very important point.

7. Bedding and lighting. Reptile pets need bedding, and for snakes, dry wood chips are the best bedding. Synthetic plywood is also a category that can be considered.

But coconut clay is still forgotten and is not advisable. Then there is the light, snakes do not need UVB to synthesize calcium, but if possible, it is better to buy a UVB lamp to illuminate.

8. Safety. Safety first! Friends who raise snakes, especially poisonous snakes and pythons, you must pay attention to life safety.
