Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed: Origins, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, etc.
1. Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
After a long period of being in the role of an Assassin, Black Flag tried something different, first introducing a pirate protagonist and then an Assassin. The ensuing adventure followed.
A large entertainment sandbox playground was introduced in the Caribbean, featuring islands with plenty of treasures and quests, and an upgrade system that made hunting the idea of oak bend wildlife and harpoons no longer a chore. It doesn't have sailing as an end goal, but rather builds on the naval combat framework of Assassin's Creed 3, turning a nautical adventure into a highlight of Black Flag.
2. "Assassin's Creed: Origins".
Origins marks a turning point in the series' stupidity. It was the game that transformed Assassin's Creed from a stealth-focused action-adventure game into an open-world RPG with a scale and scope that only a handful of games could match.
But even without considering the historical significance of Assassin's Creed: Origins, we must note that it is also an excellent Assassin's Creed game.
3. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey takes the fighting style of Origins and adds new RPG elements, adding a few extra elements to the mix, and then setting everything against the expansive backdrop of Ancient Greece, where the war between Athens and Sparta is burning.
It's a huge and vibrant game with some of the most amazing scenarios we've seen in the series, both on land and at sea.

1 I think it may be the blood effect that caused Desmond to match the appearance of Ezio in his youth, and it is possible that in Revelation it is his true appearance. >>>More
