Tim Duncan & David Robinson, MVP is Duncan.
David Robinson was one of the "Big Five" centers in the '90s and was drafted by the Spurs with the first pick in the first round in 1987, but it wasn't until the '89 season that Robinson officially started playing for the Spurs after completing his military service. At the Spurs, Robinson quickly rose to become a pillar of the team and a superstar, but the team couldn't get any better. Robinson started the 1996-97 season with a back injury and played just six games in the entire season, with a measly 20-62 record.
But this unfortunate season gave the Spurs a new hope, and that was that they picked up the No. 1 pick in the 1997 draft, which led to the selection of Tim Duncan. It was a fresh start, and Duncan and Robinson hit it off as brothers, and Robinson happily handed over the team to Duncan's younger brother. Duncan is the main attacker, Robinson is the main defense, and the "twin towers" they form are even more league-winning.
The Spurs won two championships in '99 and '03, and after the '02-03 season, Robinson announced his retirement, and Duncan added two more championship rings in '05 and '07.

But because of the shutdown, it was a shortened season. So the Spurs' championship that year has not been convinced by other strong teams in the league, knowing that in 03 the Twin Towers won the championship again, and the admiral retired perfectly, the Spurs were fully recognized.
