The first essence of sketching is to be accurate--- people's dynamics should be expressed accurately! Expressing volume is not the main purpose of sketching.

1. Find from the perspective principle. Look at the front and back, left and right, up and down perspective interspersed relationship has been opened. Such as:

Things below eye level should be near low and far high, things above eye level should be near high and far low, etc.; If these relationships are not strictly drawn, the objects will be close together, and there will be no room for the colors of the picture to be painted well.

2. Whether the relationship between light and dark in the picture is chaotic. If a painting should be bright and dare not be brightened, and if it should be dark, how can it form a volume? This kind of problem arises because the painter does not have enough understanding of light and shade.

For example, when painting a white porcelain jar, the first thing some painters think of is to use white to paint, and the changes of light and dark formed by this white color under the action of light rarely exist. In terms of light and shade changes, if you understand the two parts of light and backlight of this kind of object: the light is the object seen during the day, and the backlight is the object seen at night, so as to change the concept and understand the relationship between light and dark of the object, it will not make the relationship between light and dark in the picture flat.

3. Too much white powder is added to the color mix. In this way, the composure of the dark part is destroyed, and the layers of black, white and gray cannot be pulled, resulting in all the gray of the picture, and of course, there is no volume and space.

4. The color of the whole picture is repeated. There are the same highlights, the same black dots everywhere, and the same gray everywhere, which compete with each other, making the whole picture lack the center and disorganized, and of course, it cannot form volume and space, which is also the reason why we often talk about the appearance of "flowers" in the picture.
