Flowers, lamps, fruits, clothes, bedding, medicine, etc. can be offered.
But the most important thing is to do your best, because Buddhas and Bodhisattvas do not covet your offerings.
-
The main thing is to have a heart.
Don't you hear the Buddha in your heart?
If there is no Buddha in your heart, how can you make offerings to the Buddha?
If you believe, you will have it, and if you don't believe it, you will not.
It's just a kind of sustenance for people's thoughts.
For example, when something bad happens.
Go and give it up. The heart will be solid.
Because you believe that the Buddha will help you.

Buddha is a god, the lamp is a symbol of light and wisdom, the lamp in front of the Buddha represents the god seeking light, seeking wisdom, most of the Buddha in front of the lamp are oil lamps, candles, implying that they are willing to sacrifice themselves to shine on others, and the merits are immeasurable, but these are superstitions, a kind of belief of people, without any scientific basis.
In the superstitious saying, the Buddha is a kind of offering, the Buddha is a god, but represents the light, the Buddha in front of the lamp represents like the gods to seek light, seek wisdom, is a wisdom lamp in the world, Pudu sentient beings, can bless the lamp for the lamp person to live a safe life, and anything can be turned into good fortune.
The lamp is a symbol of light and wisdom, which can light up every corner of the darkness in the world, so that those who have lost themselves can find their way home, and it is a very important item in the Buddhist gate.
Usually the lamps offered in front of the Buddha are oil lamps and candles, and they will be extinguished after a long time, so it also means that they are willing to sacrifice themselves to shine on others and see through everything in the world, but these are superstitions, it is a kind of belief of people, and there is no scientific basis.

From the varieties of tribute stove closed products, there are roughly two categoriesOne is eating, that is, snacks and fruitsOne is the meat of pigs, cattle and sheep, to put it simply, a bowl of braised pork will do. In terms of the placement format, it is generally based onIt is placed according to the quantitative relationship of three or multiples of three
For example, if there are at least three fruits on a plate, or six, nine, etc., don't just swing them to accompany one or two. And the plates to be offered should be three, or six, and so on. For example, you can have a plate of fruit, a plate of snacks, and a plate of meat.
The meaning of the offering.
The general basic offerings are as follows: incense, lamps, candles, flowers, fruits, and water.
Incense - on behalf of the incense, is a signal, which is used metaphorically to transmit messages to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and to communicate with the Tao. But its true meaning is still the true incense of precepts and the five points of body incense (i.e., precept incense, fixed incense, wisdom incense, liberation incense, and liberation and knowledge incense) that Buddhism often talks about. When people see this smoke and smell this fragrance, they should think that they want to cultivate the precepts, to cultivate concentration, and to cultivate wisdom.
The lamp represents light, and all light indicates wisdom, so when we see all the light, we must think that we should go on the path of wisdom.
Candle - means to burn yourself like a candle and illuminate others. This is Buddhism for people to be able to sacrifice themselves for others if they want to seek wisdom, to serve the society with their own wisdom, their own physical strength, and their own skills, and to help all sentient beings without asking for reward. That is, people should advocate the dedication of "spring silkworms to the end of the dead silk, wax torches to ashes and tears to dry".
Fruit – indicates the result. Fruits are not for Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to eat, but to teach us that when we see the fruits, we can think of "what kind of retribution we hope to get, and what kind of causes we should cultivate if we are hidden and cracked." From the perspective of Buddhism, fruit represents virtue and is the fruit of perfect wisdom.

Sincerity is the most important thing. Let me teach you about offerings!
Don't put meat in your offerings! All offerings to gods and Buddhas should not be filled with meaty things, otherwise they will not only damage the cultivation of gods and Buddhas, but also increase their own sins. I will explain to you the ten offerings:
Generally speaking, there are many kinds of offerings in Buddhism, such as Dharma offerings, wealth offerings, contemplation offerings, three karma offerings, thousand monk offerings, and so on. But we laypeople only know how to make offerings with money, and the most popular is the ten offerings in the financial offerings, that is, the ten offerings to the Buddha with incense, flowers, lamps, water, fruits, tea, food, treasures, beads, clothes, etc., all have certain metaphors, such as incense symbolizes incense, flowers symbolize beauty, lamps symbolize light, water symbolizes purity, fruit symbolizes Buddha fruit, tea symbolizes sobriety, food symbolizes fullness, treasure symbolizes wealth, beads symbolizes rarity, clothing symbolizes shelter, and so on. So a Buddha doesn't need any Buddha to make any offering, but if you make an offering to any Buddha with ten offerings and a respectful heart, they will receive it with joy.
Whoever makes an offering is blessed. Amitabha!
From the above, it can be seen that the Buddha and Bodhisattva are still happy about this, not to mention Guan Gong, the God of Wealth, the ancestral god (the ancestors worshiped at home, the gods are called "ancestral gods", and those who have not become gods are called "ancestral spirits") and other immortals (Baojia immortals, horse immortals, yellow immortals, long immortals, fox immortals, black immortals, etc.)? Because the immortals are the characters in the heavenly path in the six realms of reincarnation, and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are saints who have transcended the six realms of reincarnation, the things offered to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are suitable for these immortals.

2. The third Buddha, that is, the Buddha who burned the lamp in the past, the Buddha Shakyamuni in the present, and the Maitreya Buddha in the future.
3. The three Buddhas of the Heng Dynasty, namely the Amitabha Buddha of the West, the Buddha Shakyamuni, and the Medicine Buddha of the East. Or Amitabha Buddha in the West, Buddha Virujana, Buddha Ajin in the East. For example, the Shaolin Zen Monastery Daxiong Treasure Hall abbot of Dezheng Zen Master is the Western Amitabha Buddha, **Shakyamuni Buddha, and Eastern Medicine Buddha.
Expansion of the precursor:
The three Buddhas are the main objects of worship in Mahayana Buddhism, and according to Indian philosophy, time and space are confused, so the three Buddhas are divided into vertical and horizontal levels. The offerings in front of the Buddha are very rich, mainly including: offering lamps, the fuel is mostly ghee, its containers are made of different metals such as gold, silver and copper, and there are stones chiseled into concave shapes; Clear water, contained in bowl-shaped containers made of brass and even more precious metals of different sizes, symbolizes the purity of body and speech; Flowers, which are generally replaced by plastic flowers in winter, symbolize beauty; Rice or food crops are also good; Tibetan incense symbolizes the all-pervasive Dharma; Offering fruit is a sign of devotion and gratitude to the Buddha. Every festival and the beginning of the year.
On January and 15, believers carry ghee to temples and Buddha halls to light lamps, and also offer offerings and light butter lamps in front of their Buddhist shrines to pray for peace and happiness.
There is no certain order of offerings, generally speaking, they can be incense, flowers, lamps, paint, fruits, and medicines, all in a row. But the offerings must be placed neatly and solemnly, and they must not be placed on the altar casually, and the offerings must be arranged in a row, each with a distance of one meter.

1. The main thing is to be sincere. Do not offer meaty items such as wine and meat. Then if these things can, it's best not to eat them yourself, for example, the water offered to the Buddha and Bodhisattva can be sprinkled into the rivers when they are released, and they can also be used to water flowers, and the Buddhist scriptures should also be offered up (you can't just throw them into the drawer), and the Buddhist scriptures can also be worshipped!
2. There are many taboos in popular beliefs, but it is not a true belief in Buddhism, but it is mistaken for a taboo in Buddhism. For example, the remaining incense sticks in the incense burner should not be cleaned every day, as the result will be dirty and easy to cause the danger of burning. In fact, every incense burner in front of every Buddha in our temple must be cleaned up in the early morning every day, and it is always kept as clean as the incense burner that burned incense for the first time.
3. Offerings such as flowers, fruits, food, and tea in front of the Buddha are consumables and must be replaced daily; If it is still usable and edible, it should be used for other purposes or eaten by family members, and should not be discarded; If it is rotten or corrupted, it will be disposed of as garbage. There is no restriction on the singular or even number of offerings, and it is even in terms of symmetrical beauty, and if it is limited to the relationship between material resources, financial resources, location and venue, there is nothing wrong with the singular number. As for the category, the material is based on the scope of each person's financial resources that may be borne by the principle, and it is neither perfunctory nor extravagant.
