Finally, a watertight elevator takes the diver back to the surface and into the decompression chamber. In a light, warm decompression chamber with medical controls, divers are well rested.

Does this idea work? Theoretically, it works. In order to realize this idea, the American Edwin Link built an underwater dwelling room to experiment with people living underwater.

He called in Staniert, the best diver in the world at the time, and spent the hour at a depth of meters. He breathes artificial air composed of helium and oxygen. After returning to the surface, he immediately went to the decompression chamber, and after days and hours of decompression, he came out of the cabin in good spirits and in good health.
