Born on November 20, 1930 in a mountain village in Zhongjiang County, Sichuan Province, he grew up in a very poor family, and when he was six or seven years old, his father Qingqian was oppressed by the landlord and died of illness and hatred. Since he was a child, Huang Jiguang has been working long hours for the landlord, cutting grass and herding cattle.

In the winter of 1949, when his hometown was liberated and a peasant association was organized in the village, Huang Jiguang not only became the first batch of members of the peasant association, actively fought against the landlords, but also became a militia in the village.

After the start of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea in 1950, demobilization was stopped and a large number of conscripts were carried out in China. In March 1951, when Zhongjiang County was recruiting new recruits for the Volunteer Army, Huang Jiguang was the first to sign up in the village. At the time of the medical examination, he was initially not selected due to his short stature.

The battalion commander who came to recruit was moved by Huang Jiguang's enthusiasm for joining the army and agreed to be admitted exceptionally.

After arriving at the Korean front, Huang Jiguang was assigned to the 6th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 135th Regiment of the 15th Army as a correspondent. In April 1952, the troops went to the forward position of Wusheng Mountain to take over the defense, but Huang Jiguang, who wanted to kill the enemy and make meritorious contributions, was assigned to the company's logistics. After the meticulous ideological work of the deputy instructor, Huang Jiguang understood the importance of the hard work of the backbone, and did an excellent job in everything.

In July 1952, the Chinese New Democratic Youth League. With the approval of his superiors, he was awarded a third-class meritorious service.

On October 14, 1952, the Battle of Shangganling began. On the night of October 19, Huang Jiguang's second battalion was ordered to counterattack the enemy occupying the surface position on the high ground. When the attacking force was blocked and the first time was large, Huang Jiguang, who had been appointed as the battalion communicator, stepped forward and took the initiative to ask for battle to eliminate the enemy's firepower point.

When his comrades were wounded and sacrificed and his ammunition ran out, Huang Jiguang resolutely blocked the enemy's gun hole with his body, opening up a way for the victory of the assault troops, and he was only 22 years old when he died.

A native of Zhongjiang County, Sichuan Province, he is a correspondent of the 2nd Battalion of the 135th Regiment of the 45th Division of the 15th Army of the Chinese People's Volunteers.

In the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Huang Jiguang's heroic feat of sacrificing his life to block the hole of the gun inspired and educated several generations.
