Why should men take Guanyin and women take Buddha?

Guanyin compassion, men are less compassionate, so learn the compassion of Guanyin Bodhisattva.

1. Chinese may have heard this old saying - men wear Guanyin, women wear Buddha. The elders of the family regard this sentence as a wise saying, and they have been telling us since childhood, and they strictly abide by this rule when buying jade. It's as if a man has violated a taboo by wearing a Buddha and a woman wearing Guanyin, but when asked why they did it, almost no one can explain it.

In fact, one of the leading factors in the formation of this rule is the theory of yin and yang harmony.

2. As we all know, Guanyin and Buddha are not deities of Chinese origin, but imported from Indian Buddhism. Therefore, when it was introduced into China, it was inevitable to integrate with the local religion, that is, Taoism, for example, the Guanyin that men need to wear, which was originally a male image, and later merged with the image of the Queen Mother in Taoism, and became the Guanyin Bodhisattva with today's maternal and loving side. Similarly, because Taoism emphasizes the harmony of yin and yang, with a female Guanyin, there must be a male Buddha, which is based on the image of a big-bellied monk named Qi in the southern region of our country, creating the image of Maitreya with a smile that we are common today.

3. Taoism pays attention to the theory of the harmony of yin and yang, men belong to yang, and women belong to yin. On the contrary, Guanyin is yin and Maitreya is yang. Therefore, "men wear Guanyin and women wear Buddha" can enable the wearer to achieve the effect of yin and yang coordination.

In this way, the yin and yang parts of the wearer's body can grow and disappear into balance with each other. It is neither excessive, nor decaying, but makes people healthy and energetic.

4. On the contrary, if there is too much yin or yang, it will cause imbalance of yin and yang, and cause people to get sick, premature aging, and even death. Therefore, men wear Guanyin and women wear Buddha, which is a rule formed in Taoist theory to bless the health of men and women. Of course, men wearing Guanyin and women wearing Buddha are not just superstitious thoughts, another ** of this rule is the different education of men and women in feudal society.

The homonym of male wearing Guanyin is "male wearing official seal", which is consistent with the ancient Chinese tradition of Zheng Tingpi's official worship seal and the idea of promotion and wealth. Therefore, wearing Guanyin also has a blessing for a man's career. In addition, in feudal society, men put their careers first, and if there are emotional fluctuations, they have a great impact on work and the environment.

Therefore, when educating men, we must educate them to be calm and quiet in order to achieve great things. And Guanyin represents a series of characteristics such as compassion and stability, so it should be worn by men.

6. In the same way, the ancient people's requirements for women were loving, generous, harmonious, and complete mother figures. Maitreya Buddha is originally a Sanskrit word, and it is interpreted as the meaning of "compassion". Therefore, it is also said that this Buddha always has a compassionate heart.

Giving this meaning to women also represents the hope that women will be open-minded like the pot-bellied Buddha, smile often, be kind and wealthy, and think about accommodating family trivialities with a generous mind, which is the so-called "family and everything is prosperous".

7. Steady people will not be impatient and not easy to make mistakes. Only by having compassion can we treat others with ourselves. Those who are open-minded are the best able to maintain family harmony and contentment. "Men wear the view and shout the poor sound and the woman wears the Buddha" is not only a blessing for men and women, but also teaches them the truth of how to behave in the world.
