Chen Huacheng (1776-1842), the name Yezhang, the name Lianfeng, Han nationality, was born in Tong'an County, Fujian Province (now Xiamen City). A native of Tong'an, Fujian, he immigrated to Taiwan as a child and grew up in the Xingzhi area of Tamsui Hall (now Xinzhuang, Taipei).

When the First Opium War had broken out, Chen Huacheng, with the support of Yu Qian, the governor of Liangjiang, perfected the defensive measures of Wusong Fort at the mouth of the Yangtze River and the Huangpu River, and swore to defend the Yangtze River waterway. Hearing that the British invading army had invaded Dinghai and did not enter the Songjiang Government Office, they rushed to Wusong, the most important Haikou in Jiangsu, and actively prepared for war, successively mobilized more than 4,000 Qing troops, deployed more than 250 artillery pieces of various types, and built a defensive position "Tucheng" along the west bank of the Huangpu River estuary for 5 kilometers, built an artillery bunker "Tuniu", and strengthened the east and west forts.
In the twenty-first year of Daoguang (1841), the British army occupied Dinghai, Zhoushan, Zhejiang, and Yuqian, Ge Yunfei and others died.
In June of the 22nd year of Daoguang (1842), the British army entered the mouth of the Yangtze River. On the morning of June 16, the British army attacked the Wusongxi Fort with 7 **, 6 steamboats, 10 transport ships and sampans. Chen Huacheng commanded a fierce battle for two and a half hours, destroying and damaging four enemy ships and preventing the British from landing at the front.
However, the East Fort was lost, and Chen Huacheng suffered from the enemy on his back and fought alone. The ministry asked Chen Huacheng to leave the fort, and he said that he would enter and never retreat. He wanted to sacrifice his life for his country, and he took the lead in hand-to-hand combat with the enemy.
During the battle, he was wounded in seven places and covered in blood. He was finally killed by a blood spray. More than 80 other soldiers died heroically.
After the fall of Wusongkou, Baoshan and Shanghai were captured by the British army one after another. He is a famous patriotic general in the battle of Chen Huacheng's opium no book, and he is as famous as Guan Tianpei.
