The purpose of renunciation is to manifest one's true nature in one's Buddha nature, and everyone's Buddha nature is "not increasing, revealing or decreasing", no matter how much they give up, they can't give up their own nature, but because of all the renunciation, their nature can be revealed without looking for themselves!
You can't afford to "prove yourself" to get troubled!
