    Analysis: Li Shangyin's personal profile.

et Posted on 2005-5-17 12:15:15 Li Shangyin Tang Dynasty poet.

The word Yishan, Yuxisheng, and Fan Nansheng. Originally from Hanoi, Huaizhou, since his grandfather, he moved to Xingyang, Zhengzhou. claims to be of the same clan as the royal family, but the following generations of Gao and great-grandfathers have only achieved the county commander, county lieutenant, state and county bureaucracy, and other subordinate levels.

The so-called "Zongxu is declining, the hairpin is resting", "there is no place to return to the four seas, and the nine clans have no relatives to rely on", this kind of self-description truly reflects his relatively humble situation.

Li Shangyin's life experience can be roughly divided into three stages. The first stage, two years before Wenzong's opening, was his teenage years. At the age of 16, he wrote "The Theory of Talent" and "The Treatise on Saints", and he was known to scholars and doctors in ancient texts.

In the third year of Wenzong Yamato, he was recruited by Linghu Chu, the envoy of the Tianping Army. In the sixth year of Yamato, Linghu Chu was transferred to Hedong Jiedu envoy and the northern capital was left behind, and Li Shangyin followed him to Taiyuan. Later, there was a short period of observation in Yanhai to make Cui Rong stay in the shogunate.

In the second year of opening, he ascended to the rank of Jinshi. There are not many surviving poems from this period, but they have formed an important beginning. Among them, some poems that directly reflect social politics, such as "Sui Shidong", "Two Songs with Feelings", "Heavy Feelings", "Princess Shou'an's Surrender", "Lines in the Western Suburbs for a Hundred Rhymes", etc., refer to things and express feelings, which are passionate and touching, showing the ambition and knowledge of young poets to care for the fate of the country.

Other works express the writer's ambition and desire to use the world in a figurative way, such as "The First Bamboo Shoot Presents in the Seat" and "Untitled" "Eight Years Old Peeking in the Mirror", with a fresh style. In addition, there are also a small number of social poems and erotic poems. The second stage, from the third year of Kaicheng to the sixth year of Wuzong Huichang, was the middle-aged period when Li Shangyin embarked on his official career and began to be involved in the whirlpool of party disputes.

The bumpy course of life at this stage has prompted the poet's creation to develop in depth. The subject matter is broader than that of the previous period, including many aspects of sentiment, expression, romance, gift, travel, pastoral, history, and poetry. The feelings in the poem are more melancholy, the expression is more graceful, and the art has reached a mature realm, such as "Stable City Tower", "Two Songs of Peony Defeated by the Rain", "Ren Hongnongwei Xianzhou Assassin Shi Begging Back to Beijing".

On the other hand, negative and decadent ideas and glamorous poems have also developed, such as "Mirror Threshold", "Quchi", "Annoying Drinking Banquet in the County", and "Drunk under Flowers". The third stage, after the first year of Emperor Xuanzong (847), was the later period when Li Shangyin entered the shogunate and wandered at the end of the world. After Xuanzong ascended the throne, a political measure against the Wuzong Dynasty, Li Deyu's party, which had gained power during the Huichang period, was degraded one after another, and the poet was further suppressed.

He had no way out in Beijing, so he had to go to the distant shogunate to settle down. In the twelfth year of junior high school, he resigned and returned to Zhengzhou to live idlely. He died of illness around the end of that year.

The wandering career has made the poet's later poetic style more diverse, and the poetry has become more and more mature. The poems written are even more thought-provoking and lamentable.
