The Yongle Canon was compiled for the Ming Dynasty, too late. It should be Shangshu first.
Originally called "Shu", it was renamed "Shangshu" in the Han Dynasty, which means the book of the previous dynasty. This is China's first compilation of ancient historical documents and some works that trace ancient deeds, and it preserves some important historical materials of the Shang and Zhou dynasties, especially the early Western Zhou Dynasty. The Book of Shang is said to have been compiled by Confucius, but some of the texts were added by Confucianism later.
At the beginning of the Western Han Dynasty, there were 28 articles, which were copied in the official script of the Han Dynasty, and were called "Jinwen Shangshu". In addition, it is said that during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the "Ancient Texts and Books" (only existing articles and a small number of inscriptions) were found in the walls of Confucius's residence and the pseudo-"Ancient Texts and Books" (16 more than the "Modern Texts and Books") presented by Mei Zhen of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The "Commentary on the Thirteen Classics" and the "Shangshu" that are now in circulation are the summaries of the "Jinwen Shangshu" and the pseudo-"Guwen Shangshu".

The Yongle Canon was written by Xie Jin, a famous genius during the Ming Dynasty.
This is also the first encyclopedia in Chinese history.
I believe everyone should have heard of the book "Yongle Canon", "Yongle Canon" is a very classic work, but people don't know much about "Yongle Canon". The Yongle Canon was created during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, when the reigning emperor was Zhu Di.
And Xie Jin, the author of "Yongle Canon", was also known as the first genius of the Ming Dynasty at that time. <>
The Yongle Canon is actually not Xie Jin's original, because it is an informational book, so there are many other books in it. Moreover, there are many explanations and meanings of words in it, and it is also a kind of dictionary used by ancient people when searching for literature, so having a big point is equivalent to an encyclopedia in ancient times. When Xie Jin was compiling this book, he also hoped that there would be a variety of knowledge in this book, so that people could understand a lot of classics when they read this book.
When the book was just compiled, it was called "The Great Completion of Literature".
But the Yongle Emperor.
Zhu Di felt very dissatisfied after reading it, he felt that there were too few clicks in this book, and it could not be called an encyclopedia at all. So Zhu Di asked his cronies Yao Guangxiao again.
He Jiejin compiled this book together, starting from the historical materials of the Three Kingdoms period, in fact, Zhu Di mainly wanted to compile a very detailed encyclopedia to highlight the cultural heritage of the Ming Dynasty. <>
This book began to be compiled when Zhu Di first succeeded to the throne, and Zhu Di mainly wanted to use this book to attract cultural people in society, because Zhu Di's throne was not passed on to him by the first emperor, but snatched from his nephew. This kind of behavior seemed very wrong in ancient times, so there were many literati in the society at that time who couldn't stand it, and Zhu Di, who wrote articles satirizing the station, also wanted to establish his position in the hearts of these literati through this "Yongle Canon".

The Yongle Canon includes as many as seven or eight thousand important ancient classics, from the pre-Qin period to the early Ming Dynasty, which can really be said to be "including the vastness of the universe, and the similarities and differences between the ancient and the modern". Before the Song and Yuan dynasties, there were many secret texts that had to be preserved and circulated. Included content includes:
Classics, history, children, sales finger collections, interpretations, Taoist classics, dramas, plain words, industrial technology, agronomy, medicine, literature, etc., are all inclusive. It is not easy to collect a single word of the books, and they are compiled separately according to the whole book, the whole article, or the whole paragraph of the original work, which further enhances the documentary value of the preserved materials. The style of the whole book is "rhyme to unify words, and words to tie things", which is very convenient to search.
The book has 22,877 volumes, 60 volumes, a total of 11,095 volumes, and 370 million words. After the book was compiled, it was treasured in the Wenyuan Pavilion in Nanjing. After Yongle moved the capital, it moved to Beijing, and was hidden in the Wenlou (i.e., Wenzhao Pavilion) in the Forbidden City.
In August of the forty-first year of Jiajing (1562), a copy was written, and since then the "Yongle Grand Canon" has two parts, which are treasured in Wenyuan Pavilion and Huangshi Palace.
The book includes astronomy, geography, human ethics, national unity, morality, political system, famous objects, anecdotes, as well as the sun, moon, stars, rain, wind, clouds, frost, dew, mountains, seas, rivers, etc. The whole book is divided into categories, compiling more than 8,000 kinds of ancient books from the pre-Qin period to the early Ming Dynasty. It preserves a large number of rich and valuable materials in philosophy, history, geography, language, literature, art, religion, science and technology before the Ming Dynasty.

I think it is a collection of ancient and modern masterpieces, rich in content, and the compilation techniques are relatively novel, full of many people's hard work in it.
