China's achievements in the past 25 years of reform and opening up.
Over the past 25 years, China has unswervingly promoted reform and opening up, the socialist market economic system has been initially established, an open economy has taken shape, social productive forces and comprehensive national strength have been continuously enhanced, various social undertakings have developed in an all-round way, and the people's living standards have generally achieved a historic leap from subsistence and clothing to moderate prosperity. In the 25 years from 1978 to 2003, China's economy grew at an average annual rate of 9.4 Twenty-five years ago, China's annual GDP was $147.3 billion, and last year it reached more than $1.4 trillion.
Twenty-five years ago, China's annual imports and exports totaled US$20.6 billion, and last year it reached US$851.2 billion. Twenty-five years ago, China's foreign exchange reserves were $16.7 billion, and last year they reached $403.3 billion. At present, China's total economic output ranks sixth in the world, and the total import and export volume ranks fourth in the world.
The most crucial reason why China has been able to undergo such tremendous changes is that we have always adhered to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, always adhered to reform and opening up, and stimulated the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity of all the people.
Although China has made great achievements in development, the Chinese population is large, the foundation is weak, the productive forces are underdeveloped, the development is very uneven, and the contradictions between the ecological environment, natural resources and economic and social development are quite prominent. Although the per capita GDP of Chinese has exceeded 1,000 US dollars, it still ranks below the top 100 in the world. In order for China to achieve modernization and enable all its people to live a prosperous life, it will need to carry out long-term and unremitting hard struggle.

My hometown, Dongtai, is located in the North Jiangsu Plain, bordering the Yellow Sea. I grew up drinking water and eating grain from my hometown, and I was deeply impressed by every grass and tree in my hometown. With the deepening of the reform and opening up in my hometown, people's living standards are like sesame seeds blooming - they are getting higher and higher, and the earth-shaking changes have taken place around me.
I remember when I was a child, people lived in tiled houses, and only those with good living conditions could afford to live in buildings. Usually I don't have a problem with tiled houses, but when it rains, it's not so good, because of the low-lying terrain, the rain goes straight to the house, and it's wet everywhere. Especially in the summer, it can be difficult to get a good night's sleep.
In the past, we mostly walked on dirt roads, preferably gravel roads, and if there was a car driving by, it would kick up a sky full of dust and make people unable to open their eyes. Now, the roads are all asphalted, and cars and motorcycles are driving fast on the streets. After the renovation of the old city, the hometown has a new look, and every family has lived in a new building, and they are no longer afraid of wind and rain.
The commercial pedestrian street is brightly lit and lively. Traffic lights and electronic police have been installed on the roads one after another, and people can consciously abide by traffic rules without the command of the traffic police, and our travel is safer.
Every grass and tree in my hometown is lovely, however, the people in my hometown are even more lovely. In 2004, the State Post Bureau also held the first special stamp launch ceremony of Dong Yonghe and the Seven Fairies in my hometown, which was unprecedented, reflecting people's yearning for a better life.
Not long ago, my 92-year-old lady was admitted to the hospital due to illness, after the best efforts of the medical staff and the careful care of the family, the old lady was finally out of danger, when she woke up, she thought she was living in a hotel! Because the hospital has all the modern facilities, the old lady smiled and said, "I still hope to live a few more years, watching my great-granddaughter grow up healthily, my happy life has just begun!"
My hometown has changed and become more beautiful, my hometown is a small part of the motherland, and the changes in my hometown are the epitome of the development of the motherland. I love my hometown, and I love our great motherland even more!

Example: The hometown is a garden, with the fragrance of flowers; The hometown is a forest, with the coolness of green trees; Hometown is a field, with the hope of harvest; The hometown is a snowy scene with the sparkle of ice crystals.
Recalling the past, every household was full of fruits and vegetables in order not to worry about eating. All year round, as long as you can plant something, the small yard will be full, and lo and behold, all kinds of colors are mixed and intertwined, and it is disorganized. It's a crowded, messy courtyard.
Now, families don't grow vegetables anymore, but flowers. Flowers are in constant bloom throughout the year. In spring, roses and other roses bloom in full bloom.
In summer, the flowers are more abundant and colorful. In autumn, the flowers should be withering, but the chrysanthemums are blooming proudly. In winter, the snow is falling, but the plum blossoms are blooming on the branches.
All year round, the fragrance continues. Fragrant, beautiful hometown like a garden.
Back in the day, the village was bare, with almost no trees. In the summer, the adults chatting outside sit along the wall, and the children mostly hide in the house and fan their fans. The inside of the house is like a steamer, and the outside of the house is like a hot pot.
Now, in front of and behind the houses, on both sides of the streets, and outside the village, green trees are planted, although not as dense as the forest, but also full of green trees. In the summer, adults enjoy the shade under the trees, and children play under the trees. The dense foliage brings a burst of coolness.
Cool, forest-like cool hometown.
Looking back, the fields were full of crops, densely packed, including corn, rice, peanuts, etc. At that time, people's planting skills were not very high, and although they worked hard, the harvest was not very ideal. The crops that were watered with drops of sweat seemed to be deliberately against the people.
Now, with the popularization of science and technology, green pollution-free crops are everywhere, mechanized production has been realized, saving time and effort, farmers' pockets are becoming more and more bulging, and their spare time life is also enriched. In spring, rice is like a turquoise ocean, with waves in waves; In autumn, the rice hangs its head, and the earth is golden, which can really be described as "the spring planting is all green, and the autumn harvest is all over the land". Joy, a hometown full of harvest like fields.
Looking back, garbage has a paradise - the streets, staying in every corner, sometimes dancing in the wind, and even swimming in the water, making people want to hide when they see it, it's really dirty. Now, the garbage has its own home - the garbage dump, the streets are tidy and paved with concrete, and it has become a dazzling bright spot. Clean, the hometown where the ice crystals shine.
Hometown is constantly changing. In my heart, my hometown is like a young girl, becoming more and more beautiful, and I love my hometown from the bottom of my heart.
