Design background.
There was a small umbrella made of paper in the class, and a few curious children stood at the table to look at the small umbrella on the table, and had a heated discussion about the role and material of the umbrella! Seeing that the children's interest in umbrellas is so high, my class conducted a lesson related to the material of umbrellas.
Activity Objectives. 1. Methods of preliminary learning records.
2. Understand the texture and waterproofness of the umbrella.
3. Understand the different roles of umbrellas and their role in human life.
Key difficulties. 1. What kind of changes will the umbrella have when it encounters water?
2. Be able to know that different umbrellas have different functions.
3. Learn to fill in the record form.
Event preparation. 1. Umbrellas of various materials (cloth, plastic, paper, oiled paper).
2. The materials used to make the umbrella surface (plain paper, cellophane, plastic sheet, wax paper).
3. Record observation table of umbrella, a basin of water.
The process of the activity. 1. Ask the children to observe an experiment: "Will the umbrella surface get wet?" ”
Show plastic umbrellas, paper umbrellas, cloth umbrellas, oil-paper umbrellas. The teacher guides the children to recognize umbrellas of different materials and feel the umbrella fabrics of different materials with their hands.
Find the relative name of the parachute bar on the record sheet and be able to tick the parachute bar that is afraid of water.
Ask the children to guess: If you sprinkle water directly on the umbrella surface, will the umbrella surface get wet? After the water reaches the umbrella surface, will the umbrella of different materials react to the surface of the umbrella?
Encourage your toddler to record their guesses on the observation sheet.
2. Invite the children to try the experiment on their own and share their observations. The toddlers were divided into four groups for the trial.
Ask the children to pour water directly on the umbrella surface of the plastic umbrella, paper umbrella, cloth umbrella, and oil-paper umbrella, shake the umbrella, and touch the umbrella surface to see if it is wet.
After the experiment, discuss with the children which umbrellas will and which will not seep. When water is sprinkled on the surface of the umbrella of different materials, the surface of the umbrella changes differently. - Hold the umbrella in a corner of the teacher, observe which umbrella is easy to dry, which umbrella is not, and how long will it take?
Ask your child to learn to wait and watch the record carefully.
Write down the results of the experiment on the observation record sheet.
3. Let the children compare the results of the experiment and get the classification results of umbrellas that are afraid of water.
Compare it with the pre-test records to find out which umbrellas will seep water and which will seep water.
Invite your toddler to think about why some umbrellas seep water and others don't.
Through comparison, it is more clear to young children that different umbrellas have different uses.
The teacher led the children through an analysis of the experiment and concluded that unused umbrellas could be used for different purposes.
Children freely discuss which umbrellas are afraid of water and which ones are not afraid of water, and observe carefully.
