Since the first version was released on August 16, 2010, MIUI has been updated for 373 weeks. While releasing weekly updates, MIUI is also continuing to optimize the experience of each model, hoping to bring a better system experience to Mi fans.
In order to achieve the best optimization effect, MIUI will release the last MIUI 9 development version of all models on April 27th. After that, the engineering team will focus on optimization, which will take some time and is expected to resume in June, so please pay attention to the relevant announcements of the forum.
At the same time, due to comprehensive considerations such as stability and software experience, some Android models will stay in the MIUI 9 development version trial version, and will no longer support subsequent major version upgrades. For these models, we have also prepared an upgrade plan for the stable version, and Mifen can choose to stay in the development version or make an appointment to upgrade to the subsequent MIUI stable version (expected to be released in June-July) according to your needs.
You need to pay attention to the following points when you are scheduled to upgrade the development version to the stable version:
1.After updating from the development version to the stable version, root will be automatically disabled, if you have not enabled root, please ignore this article; If your favorite apps require a root environment, consider updating them as appropriate.
2.Compared with the development version, the stable version has a more stable system experience, and it also has special features such as MIUI 9 Information Assistant.
Note: Individual functions may not be experienced due to performance and other factors, but there is almost no difference in the overall use of the system.
3.This update from the development version to the stable version will not erase any of your data. However, please still make sure to back up important data to Xiaomi Cloud Service or local computer before upgrading to prevent accidents.
4.If you need to update the system, you can click System Update (enter the method: Settings - > My Device - > MIUI version) - > click the menu in the upper right corner - > click ** Complete Package - > click to pre-order the stable version.
When a version is pushed, you will be reminded by a notification bar or re-enter the system update to check whether there is a stable version pushed.

Note: You can choose to stay in the development version or go to the system update to schedule an upgrade to the MIUI stable version; The trial version needs to be swiped to the stable version.

MIUI comes in four versions.
1. Experience version: MIUI experience version, as the name suggests, is to experience the purest development function of MIUI. This version allows you to experience the latest, most original, and most "enthusiastic" interface and features, and you can get updates every business day.
The reason why many enthusiasts love this version is because they like to live every day as "Orange Friday". But this version is also a centralized production place for all kinds of bugs, if your MIUI is a trial version, remember to communicate with the forum in time if there are various problems, upload your bug log, which is conducive to our engineers to eliminate bug monsters. It is also because of the positive feedback from users of the trial version that our MIUI development version and stable version have stable ROMs.
2. Beta: Whenever our development version or stable version is officially launched, MIUI will push the beta version to some users, so that these users can experience the new experience brought by the MIUI version update first. The biggest difference between this closed beta version and the test beta version is that it is a stable version of the ROM sequence.
But rice noodles must go to the MIUI forum to apply for the beta permission to eat the beta version. Because the beta version is mainly used to test the bugs that may be encountered after the release of the stable ROM sequence, so that engineers can fix them urgently, the inner OS of the beta version should be: I will go to the front to explore the way.
The beta update is pushed every Monday to Thursday, during which the system update will display the beta version, and the development version will be fully pushed after 11 a.m. on Friday. The internal beta push of the stable version is generally about two weeks before the official version is pushed.
3. Development version: The most popular among general enthusiasts is the MIUI development version, because this version of the ROM is more stable, and the "Orange Friday" that rice fans are looking forward to can let rice fans enjoy more geek fun. The feature update of the development version is relatively slower than that of the test pack, but it is much faster than the stable version.
It is also a long-term test for future stable releases. Through the addition and continuous iteration of the functionality of the development version, as well as user feedback and surveys, MIUI was able to continue to launch a better "Orange Friday".
4. Stable version: If you buy rice fans from regular channels, you will find that after opening the phone, you will find that MIUI comes with the stable version. Why choose the stable version as the default factory MIUI version?
Starting from the vast majority of users, not all users want to upgrade their mobile phones every Friday to update their experience, MIUI stable version has excellent stability and can meet the needs of the vast majority of users. Users who use the stable version of MIUI have a very small chance of appearing FC, and the experience is good. Although it lacks the fun of "Orange Friday", it is still possible to experience the fun brought by the new MIUI features in subsequent versions.
Suitable for those who have a preference for stability. If you have purchased a Xiaomi mobile phone for your parents, using the MIUI stable version is the best choice. The stable version is updated from time to time, usually once a month!
