Those who meet the performance standards in the national middle school student championships, the comprehensive games or championships sponsored by the sports bureaus of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, the Chinese Athletics Association, the Athletics Management Center of the General Administration or jointly organized or co-organized with other units may apply for the title of second-class athlete.

Men's Shot Put National Level 2 Athlete Performance Standards:

1. The throwing distance of the shot put (kg) is meters.

2. The throwing distance of the shot put (6 kg in the youth group) is 16 meters.

3. The throwing distance of the shot put (5 kg in the junior group) is meters.
