    Chapter I: General Provisions.

    Article 1 The China Association for International Exchange is a national non-governmental organization of the People's Republic of China.

    Article 2 The name of the Association is the China Association for International Exchange, referred to as the Exchange Association. The English translation is Chinese association for international understanding, abbreviated as cafiu.

    Article 3 The Association is initiated and formed by various Chinese organizations, political parties, celebrities, social activists and scholars from all walks of life.

    Chapter II Tasks.

    Article 5 Establish and develop friendly exchanges and cooperative relations with non-governmental organizations, social organizations, political organizations, research institutions and people from all walks of life in various countries.

    Article 6 As a non-governmental organization, it actively participates in the activities of the United Nations and other relevant international organizations, and is committed to the progressive cause of safeguarding world peace, promoting global sustainable development, and upholding international justice.

    Article 7 The Association shall carry out various forms of exchange activities: mutual visits and investigations, exchanges in the political, economic, cultural and social fields, participation in and holding seminars, reports, special forums and other bilateral activities and regional or international multilateral activities in line with the purpose of the Association, and provide assistance to foreign friendly organizations in carrying out economic cooperation with China.

    Chapter III Board of Directors.

    Article 8 The highest authority of the Association is the Board of Directors. The Council shall serve a five-year term. During this period, a plenary meeting of the Council may be convened as necessary for the work.

    Article 9 The functions and powers of the Council:

    1. Review the work report of the Association;

    2. Formulate and revise the Articles of Association of the Association;

    3. Decide on the work policy and tasks of the association;

    4. Elect presidents, vice presidents, and advisors through democratic consultation;

    5. Elect an honorary president.

    Article 10 The president and vice president shall lead the work of the association. The Secretary-General and the Deputy Secretary-General shall assist the President and Vice-President in presiding over their daily work and set up the necessary offices.

    Chapter IV Expenses.

    Article 11 The funds of the Association come from donations and funding from all walks of life at home and abroad.

    Chapter V: Supplementary Provisions.

    Article 12 The headquarters of the China Association for International Exchange shall be located in Beijing.
