The Faculty of Letters, Arts, Philology and Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Montpellier make up what is now the University of Montpellier III, named "Paul Wallelli", in honor of the writer and philosopher who was born in Sète and educated in Montpellier.
Today, Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3, one of the most famous public universities in France, is a comprehensive university focusing on literature, languages, arts, social sciences and humanities, offering a large number of different educational programs to more than 20,000 students, and awarding national diplomas at various levels. The university has 10 research faculties and a branch campus in Bezye. The university offers more than 200 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in the natural sciences, literature, arts and other fields, and is particularly renowned in the field of French humanities.
Its prestigious Faculty of Languages and Cultures offers courses in English, French, German, Russian, Spanish and Chinese, and more than 3,000 foreign students from 50 different countries teaching and researching languages from all over the world.
