Defense of the Ancients, commonly referred to as DOTA, Chinese also translated as Dota, is a series of role-playing (RPG) custom maps based on the Warcraft III expansion Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
In Dota only requires the player to control the hero battle. Unlike traditional real-time strategy games, which focus on resource gathering and basic building, Dota Allstars puts players in control of a powerful hero with unique abilities.
With the update of the version and the corresponding story, it is now divided into Sentinel, Scourge, and neutral creeps, and the number of heroes has increased to more than 100.
Dota allows up to 10 players to compete in a 5v5 match, in addition to the ability to add up to two additional judges (spectators) in addition to the 10 players, and smaller numbers of fewer than 5 players can be seen in some informal settings.
Players are divided into 2 teams, the Sentinel Legion (which uses the Night Elves interface and voice in the game) and the Undead Scourge Legion. The main base of the Guards is located in the lower left corner of the map, while the main base of the Scourge is in the upper right corner of the map.
There are 3 main paths on the map that connect the two sides, each with 3 towers on each side along the way, and several side roads in the middle of the 3 roads.
The condition for victory in the game is to destroy the opponent's towers along the way, destroy their central building (the "World Tree" and "Frozen Throne" for the Sentinel and Scourge respectively) or all opponents exit the game. The game time is usually between 30 minutes and 50 minutes.

Dota is a map in Warcraft where Dota plays against two opposing squads, usually 5v5, and as the name suggests, the goal of the game is to protect their own ancient ruins (the Tree of Life on the Guardian side, the Frozen Throne on the Scourge side) while destroying the ancient ruins of the opposing party. In order to reach the opposing team's ancient ruins, a team's heroes must defeat the opposing team's troops, defenses, and heroes. Players can level up their heroes by killing each other in battle, gaining money and experience.
More experience increases the hero's skills or stats, and money can be used to buy more powerful equipment in the shop. There are all kinds of neutral monsters scattered around the map, and heroes can get money and experience by killing monsters, and heroes get different amounts of money and experience depending on the level of monsters. Unlike the regular Warcraft 3 battle game, each player only needs to choose a hero, understand the strengths and weaknesses of his skills, and win by controlling that hero, which is also one of the features of Dota maps.
Players can play online on a LAN, Battle-Net (BN) or personal server, and in the Dota AllStars series, players can also play against the computer AI by setting variables. The main Dota platforms for Chinese players are VS, Haofang, QQ, BN, GG, Raid, Boss, Jiujiu, etc., especially on Battle-Net, Dota has also become the most popular battle map. There are many heroes, novel skills, diverse props, complex terrain, and ever-changing tactics.
Dota is very popular and there are already many different versions. You can find it by searching the encyclopedia.
