It is called the ignorance that has existed since the beginningless. It is the fundamental confusion of the flow of life and death. If the reason of the equal legal realm is not reached, and the reason of equality is separated in vain, it is called ignorance; It is also like a heart of confusion, isolating reason, so it is spaced.
In this confusion, all kinds of afflictions arise, all kinds of karma are created, and all kinds of retribution are received. Therefore, the sutras such as the Sutra of Victory and the Mahayana Theory of Initiation and Belief are called beginningless and ignorance, and the Bodhichitta theory is called beginningless interval.
There are three interpretations of the name beginningless:
1) As far as the principle of cause and effect is concerned, it means that all the Dharmas are born from the harmony of causes and conditions, and the results of this life are born from the causes of previous lives; The fruit of past lives is born from the causes of past lives, and if we deduce it, we know that there is no beginning, and if we think that there is an beginning, then we are born without a cause, and we are not in the Dharma.
2) As far as the meaning of the interdependence of the body is concerned, it is said that the ignorance of the branches depends on the fundamental ignorance, and the ignorance at all depends on the truth, which is the natural principle of the law of dependent origination. At this time, ignorance is the root of confusion, and there is no initial confusion before ignorance, so it is called beginningless. According to this interpretation, there is no beginning as the fundamental term, so as to become the meaning of ignorance and beginning.
According to this sense, the Mahayana theory of belief is based on sudden thought as ignorance; The Tiantai school is called Yuan Pin Ignorance, and the Mahayana commentators are called Fundamental Ignorance. Therefore, such as sudden, yuanpin, root, etc., are all different names for beginnings. The Mahayana sutras say that this is the case.
This is one of the teachings to get rid of delusion. It is the meaning of 'power Mahayana'.
3) As far as the meaning of the unity of truth and delusion is concerned, it is said that truth and ignorance are different names for the same law, such as water and ice, the nature of ice is water, and the nature of ignorance is truth.
