Pinocchio is from the fairy tale Pinocchio, is a fairy tale written by the Italian writer Carlo Collodi, and is also his masterpiece, published in 1880.
The work tells the story of a poor and lonely old man who gets a piece of wood that can cry and laugh, and makes a small puppet of Sun Split, as his son, and names him Pinocchio. The father sold his shirt and bought his son a literacy textbook, asking him to study hard and learn his skills. On the way to school, the playful Pinocchio sold his textbooks in order to watch a play.
The owner of the theater took pity on the father and son and gave him 5 gold coins.
On the way home, the little puppet encounters a cunning fox and a cat. They lied to him that there was a treasure in the land of fools, and that he could get a lot of money for planting a penny. The little puppet believed it.
If you follow them, you don't realize that danger awaits you. The fairy saw all this and saved the little puppet. The little puppet misses his father and wants to pick him up to live with him.
On the way, he was deceived by foxes and cats again to the land of fools, and planted the money in the ground. The fox and the cat stole the gold coins, but the puppet went to jail for it.
After being released from prison, he was caught picking grapes from other people's houses because of hunger and was forced to work as a watchdog. The little puppet regretted that he didn't study and work well. After regaining his freedom, he was determined to be a good boy, obedient, honest, and hardworking, and to fulfill his desire to be a human being.
However, he made some bad friends, and at their instigation, he skipped school, fought, and played all day long, and turned into a donkey, broke his leg during the performance, and sold it to others to skin it for drum noodles. In the end, it was the fairy who saved him and turned him from a donkey into a puppet again. The little puppet recognized the fairy as its mother.
Later, the little puppet Pinocchio finally became obedient and loved to learn, and could help his parents.
The creative process
Collodi originally wrote A Puppet Tale (renamed Pinocchio the following year) to pay off his debts, and he even mentioned in a postscript to Ferdinand Maldini, the president of Children, that "the material I am sending you is nothing more than childish and ridiculous gadgets." Feel free to do whatever you want, and if you want to use it, I can go ahead and write it down.
What is not counted is that "this childish and ridiculous little thing" aroused great interest among readers, and was published in the Children's Newspaper from July 7, 1881, until 1883. In the middle, Collodi wanted to stop**, but was inundated with "dissatisfied" letters from readers.
