What challenges the 21st century poses to manufacturing technology and how to deal with them

At present, China's manufacturing industry is experiencing challenges, excluding the; (1) The industrial structure is unbalanced, and the product quality and efficiency are generally low. At present, the problem of China's manufacturing industry is still prominent. China's manufacturing industry is mainly resource-intensive and labor-intensive industries, the industrial structure is not reasonable enough, the product homogeneity is serious, and the quality cost is high.

In the global manufacturing pattern, although the quality and efficiency of China's manufacturing industry have maintained continuous growth, it is still at the low-end level. In the same period, the quality and efficiency development pattern of the manufacturing industry, the United States, Japan, and Germany are stable at the high-end development level, and China is far below the average level of these three countries, and even lags behind the rising stars of the world's manufacturing industry such as South Korea, resulting in China's manufacturing industry being suppressed in the low-end links of the global industrial chain as a whole.

2) The ability of independent innovation is not strong, and the key core technology is controlled by others. Although the output value of China's manufacturing industry has ranked first in the world, there is an idea of "heavy introduction and light innovation" in the development of science and technology, and the strategy of "exchanging market for technology" has caused the technological innovation strength of China's manufacturing industry to be lower than the world level, and the key core technologies are controlled by others, and some high-end equipment, core components, advanced materials, cutting-edge scientific research instruments and other high-tech products rely on imports. This not only causes China's manufacturing industry to be at the low end of the global value chain in the international division of labor system, with low added value and profit margins, but more importantly, it lacks the right to speak in industrial development, and will be controlled by others in some aspects.

3) Brand awareness is insufficient, and a world-class high-quality manufacturing brand needs to be shaped. For more than 40 years, China's strategy of "bringing in and going out" has successfully built the world's largest manufacturing country, but it lacks brand image building. According to incomplete statistics, 90% of the world's equipment manufacturing industry is controlled by developed countries, and more than 90% of China's export commodities are OEM products.

Most of China's manufacturing enterprises still stay in the image and advertising of the brand, and do not realize the value connotation of the brand. Most of China's manufacturing brands have problems such as low market recognition, low customer satisfaction, low brand added value and low market loyalty, lack of internationally competitive and influential brands, and the number of brands, popularity, reputation and developed countries have a large gap.
