After a while, he had the same misfortune again. The fisherman next to him said, "You are so stupid, don't you know that scorpions can sting?"
I know, I was stung three times by it. "Then why did you save it? It is in its nature to sting, and compassion is in my nature.
My nature does not change because of its nature. At this time, he heard the sound of struggle again. At first glance, it was still the scorpion.
He looked at his swollen hand and saw the scorpion struggling in the water and reached out to it again without hesitation. At this time, the fisherman handed him a dry twig. The Zen practitioner uses this branch to scoop up the scorpion and place it on the shore.
The fisherman smiled and said, "Compassion is right, both for the scorpion and for yourself." Therefore, compassion requires the means of compassion. Only by protecting yourself can you be qualified to be kind to others.
I love this story, it reminds me of a common saying: "It's hard to be a good person these days". Yes, it is in the nature of a good man to do good.
