Pang Shengdong (1952-2010), Han nationality, native of Baoding, Hebei Province, is a well-known economist, professor and doctoral supervisor in China. His main research areas are new institutional economics, managerial economics, and corporate strategy, and he has served as the Dean of the School of Finance of Renmin University of Chinese and the Dean of the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University. Pang Shengdong graduated from Hebei Normal University in 1979 and then entered the Chinese People's University to pursue a master's degree and a doctorate in economics.
In 1999, he received his Ph.D. in economics from the Department of Economics of Harvard University and became one of the first doctoral students of the Whampoa Military Academy.
