Earth Day is April 22, which is fixed every year, so 2019 is also April 22. Earth Day is a worldwide environmental protection campaign that was first launched in the United States in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson and Dennis Hayes and has since grown in influence. Later, at the 63rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2009, the resolution set April 22 of each year as:"Earth Day"。
With the continuous development of the economy, there are many environmental problems at the same time, such as global warming, biodiversity reduction, ozone layer depletion and destruction, air pollution, marine pollution, etc., the existence of the World Earth Day is to call on people to pay attention to environmental issues, more clearly understand that "there is only one earth", and it is urgent to protect the environment.

Earth Day (Earth Day) is a holiday set up for the protection of the world's environment, aiming to raise people's awareness of existing environmental problems, and mobilize people to participate in the environmental protection movement, through green and low-carbon life, to improve the overall environment of the earth. Earth Day was launched in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson and Dennis Hayes. Today, Earth Day is celebrated in 192 countries around the world, with more than 1 billion people participating each year, making it the world's largest environmental holiday.
Since the 90s of the 20th century, China has held Earth Day activities on April 22 every year.

The World Earth Day, celebrated on April 22 every year, is a worldwide environmental protection event. In 2009, the 63rd session of the United Nations General Assembly decided to designate April 22 as "Earth Day".

The earth is the common home of mankind, however, with the development of science and technology and the expansion of economic scale, the global environmental situation has continued to deteriorate over the past 30 years. Data show that the global average annual temperature has increased by degrees Celsius since 1860, with the 13 warmest years occurring after 1983.
In the eighties of the twentieth century, the number of people affected by disasters in the world averaged 14.7 billion each year, and by the nineties of the twentieth century, that number had risen to 21.1 billion. About 40 percent of the world's population is currently experiencing severe water scarcity, and if this trend is not halted, more than 55 percent of the world's population will face water scarcity within 30 years. The deterioration of the natural environment is also a serious threat to the wild species on the planet.
Today, 12 percent of the world's birds and one in four mammals are threatened with extinction, and overfishing has depleted one-third of fish stocks.
On April 22, 1970, in the United States on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, people spontaneously set off a huge mass environmental protection movement in order to solve the problem of environmental pollution. On this day, more than 20 million people from 10,000 primary and secondary schools, 2,000 colleges and universities, and 2,000 communities and groups across the United States took to the streets. People held aloft polluted earth models, giant paintings, diagrams, shouted slogans to protect the environment, held marches, rallies and speeches, and called for measures to protect the environment.
This large-scale event shook the government and the public, prompting the United States to pass amendments to the Water Pollution Control Act and the Clean Air Act in the early 70s, and the establishment of the US Environmental Protection Agency. Since then, American non-governmental organizations have proposed to designate April 22 as "Earth Day", and its influence has expanded with the development of environmental protection and has exceeded the national borders of the United States, and has received positive responses from many countries around the world.
In the 20 years since the birth of Earth Day, great progress has been made in environmental protection around the world. In June 1972, the United Nations convened an epoch-making conference on the human environment, and in 1973, the United Nations Environment Programme was established. For example, the 44th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Summit of Non-Aligned Countries, the Summit of the Commonwealth of Nations, and the Summit of the Seven Western Countries held in 1989 all discussed environmental issues and adopted resolutions or declarations on environmental protection.
This shows that environmental protection has become a "hot topic" in international politics and international relations. More and more politicians, scientists, and people of insight have a strong understanding that environmental pollution and ecological deterioration will greatly hinder the process of civilization in society.

As we all know, April 22 is the annual Earth Day. From 1970 to 2019, each year of Earth Day has a different theme, so what is the theme of this year's Earth Day?
A: The theme is "Cherish the Beautiful Earth, Protect Natural Resources".
Since I happened to have listened to some reports that have a certain relationship with the topic recently, I will briefly share some of my opinions.
1. Why we should cherish the earth
Although now science and technology are developed, and the pace of development is very fast. Maybe one day we will be able to find a more habitable planet in the universe than Earth, but we don't know how long it will take us to find it, let alone how long it will take us to migrate there. So, until then, we must cherish the one and only earth.
2. How to protect our planet
(1) Conservation of biodiversity and harmony with nature:
Our lives are inseparable from the earth, and at the same time, we are inseparable from all kinds of creatures on the earth. In fact, no living creature can exist on its own, and neither do humans. So, to live in harmony with them is to live in harmony with yourself.
Over the years, there have been many extinct animal species due to human hunting, such as migratory pigeons, dodos, finger monkeys, and so on. Similarly, there are countless animals that are on the verge of extinction due to human hunting or other actions.
So, for the sake of these animals, and for our own sake, please do the following:
Don't kill wild animals indiscriminately.
Protect the living environment of animals and avoid indirect harm to them.
(2) Don't waste any kind of fossil fuels, so that we can continue to grow
We all know that the process of formation of fossil fuels like coal, which is actually very slow. If we don't do it properly, sooner or later we may be faced with a shortage of resources.
At the same time, due to current scientific and technological problems, the use of many fossil fuels is actually very low (mainly incomplete combustion). This incomplete combustion may further pollute the atmosphere and water resources, and then affect the ecological environment.
To solve this problem, we can do the following:
If you can take the bus or subway, try not to drive a private car.
Reduce heating time as much as possible in winter.
Saving electricity is also conserving resources.
Adopt clean energy to avoid harm to the environment.
-
The most important thing that is closely related to each of us is to save energy (water, electricity, oil, etc.) and protect the environment.
If it helps you, please click to adopt, thank you.
-
Through the vigorous publicity of the state, improve the awareness of environmental protection and conservation of the whole people, and contribute to the construction of an environment-friendly country and the realization of the great rejuvenation of the country.
-
In the vast universe of the universe, the earth has become the only one of the countless planets that can provide life for human beings
Saved homes. And yet this.
Over the years, people have been destroying the earth more and more. In order to protect our planet, Earth Day was born.
World Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 every year, a worldwide environmental protection event. The campaign was originally launched in the United States in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson and Dennis Hayes, and has since grown in influence.
Originally, Earth Day was chosen on the vernal equinox, which is the same length of day and night in any corner of the world, and the sun can shine on the South Pole and the North Pole at the same time, which represents the equality of the world, and also symbolizes the harmonious coexistence of human beings to put aside their disputes and differences. Traditionally, in many countries there is a tradition of celebrating the spring equinox.
-
Launched in 1970 by Gaylord Nelson and Dennis Hayes, Earth Day is a dedicated holiday dedicated to protecting the world's environment, raising awareness of existing environmental issues and mobilizing people to participate in the environmental movement to improve the overall environment of the planet through green and low-carbon living.

April 22 is Earth Day.
On April 22, 1970, Dennis Hayes, a student at BAI University at Harvard, initiated and organized the DU ring.
Zhi realm protection activities, like a spark burning the prairie fire. More than 20 million people across the United States participated, and about 10,000 elementary and secondary schools, 2,000 colleges and universities, and major organizations across the country participated in the event, which became the first Earth Day.
In 1972, the National Conference on the Human Environment was held in Stockholm, and in 1973, the United Nations Environment Programme was established. Therefore, Earth Day has also become a global event, and since 1990, Japan has held a commemorative campaign to commemorate Earth Day every year.
Due to the role of natural address and the role of perceived address, the earth's ecological environment has been damaged, and thus the disaster events that lead to the loss of human life and material wealth are collectively referred to as geological disasters. China is one of the countries with the most serious geological disasters in the world. The prevention and control of geological disasters was determined by China as the theme of Earth Day in 1999, that is, the thirtieth Earth Day.
Earth Day is a day of repentance for humanity to Mother Earth.
China, the most fragile ecosystem in history, is suffering from the largest population and the greatest development pressure in history. People who love their families, let us do it from the foundation of loving the survival of the nation! Let us reflect deeply on Earth Day.
