From a visual point of view, black and white are the colors with the most contrasting and easy to distinguish between the human eye. This seemingly diametrically opposed nature cannot but be said to be closely related to the thought of the I Ching. In the I Ching system, it says:

One yin and one yang is the Tao, followed by goodness, and the nature of the achiever." He also said: "That's why "Yi" has Taiji, which is to give birth to two rituals, two rituals to give birth to four elephants, four elephants to give birth to gossip, gossip to determine good luck and evil, and good luck to give birth to great causes.

Therefore, the law is like heaven and earth, flexibility is greater than the four times, the county is like the sun and the moon, and the sublime is great and rich. Prepare things for use, and set up tools to think that the world is beneficial, which is great for saints. Exploring the hidden rope, the hook is deep and far-reaching, in order to determine the good luck of the world, and become the world's unruly, it is no more than a yarrow turtle.

Therefore, it is a natural god, and a saint is it; Heaven and earth change, and the saints follow suit; The sky hangs like an elephant, seeing good and evil, and the saint is like it. The river is out of the picture, Luo is out of the book, and the sage is the same. "Yi" has four images, so it is also shown; It's a rhetoric, so it's a lawsuit; It is determined that it is good and bad, so it is broken".

From the above two paragraphs, the thought of the I Ching holds that the universe is made up of two opposing attributes, yin and yang. In Go, black and white also happen to be opposed to each other. In ancient times, there were four black and white seats, symbolizing the four seasons.

Take the white son first, and the black son last. The symbol begins with the day and ends with the night. The white zi actually represents the yang in the I Ching, and the black zi represents the yin in the I Ching.

It can be said that yin and yang correspond to black and white chess pieces, symbolizing the alternation of night and day.

Tian Yuan is used to symbolize the center of the universe --- Taiji, black and white are used to symbolize the two opposite, contradictory and antagonistic attributes of yin and yang, and eight "stars" are used to symbolize east, west, south, north, northeast, northwest, southwest, and southeast.

In addition, the I Ching says: "The policy of drying, six out of two hundred and ten; Kun's strategy, four out of one hundred and forty. Sixty out of three hundred, the day of the current period.

The policy of the two articles is 1,520 thousand, when the number of all things." In the I Ching theory, 9 represents yang and 6 represents yin, and there are four seasons in a year, so the number of seasons of yang is 9*4=36, and the number of seasons of yin is 6*4=24. Because each hexagram in the I Ching has 6 lines, the number of pure yang is 6*36=216.

The number of pure yin is 6*24=144. The sum of yin and yang is: 216 + 144 = 360.

Tian Yuan, in the center of Go, symbolizes the center of the universe. The 360 points excluding Tian Yuan are exactly the same as the number of days in a lunar year.

It can be seen that the relationship between Go and the I Ching is very deep.
