In the rules of the NBA, how many timeouts do teams have?

3 long and 3 short, each team fouled 3 times in each quarter to start free throws.

Each team has the right to six long timeouts and two short timeouts in NBA games.

Short timeout (20 seconds):

Each team can request once per half.

Long timeout (60 seconds or 100 seconds):

Each team may request up to three long timeouts in the fourth quarter;

In the last 2 minutes of regular time, each team can request a maximum of 2 long timeouts;

Combined, both teams must have two 100-second timeouts during the first and third quarters and three 100-second timeouts during the second and fourth quarters, in order to take care of commercials during the broadcast;

If no team requests a time-out from the beginning of the first and third quarters until the remaining 6 minutes of the quarter, the referee shall enforce a time-out while dead, and the number of time-outs counted by the home team shall be counted;

In the case of the NBA, there are two types of timeouts: 20-second timeouts and 100-second timeouts. The number of 20-second timeouts is two per team, and this number of timeouts does not only exist in the regular 48 minutes, and there are no additional timeouts in overtime. This 20-second time-out is divided between two halves and only two situations in which a team can request a short timeout on the pitch, one is when the ball is dead, and the second is when the team has the ball and the player with the ball faces the referee to make a "20-second short timeout".

There are a total of 7 times for each team, which means that both sides can request a total of 14 long timeouts within 48 minutes of play. A long time-out can be requested when the ball is dead or when the player with the ball makes a "timeout" in front of the referee.

In the fourth quarter, each team shall request no more than four long timeouts, and once the final two minutes of the fourth quarter are reached, each team may not request more than three times in order to ensure the continuity of the game. It is worth mentioning that requesting a second 20-second timeout at half-time or a 20-second timeout during overtime is allowed, but will be recorded as a 100-second timeout.

In overtime, although the team will not receive a new number of short timeouts, it will regain three long timeouts per overtime, and this long timeout is also not allowed to reach three times in the last two minutes of overtime.

The NBA timeout is called by the players. Each team has the right to request a regular suspension of 7 secondary registrations. Each team is limited to no more than 4 timeouts in the fourth quarter; No more than 3 timeouts in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter. During overtime, 3 timeouts are allowed per team.

With 2 minutes and 59 seconds remaining in each quarter, no team calls a second timeout, and the recorder shall apply a mandatory time-out at the first dead ball, which is registered in the name of the team that was not previously registered in the quarter.
