The place name Huilongguan originates from a local village, Huilongguan Village. The name can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty and originated from the Ming Dynasty Emperor's Tombs. Legend has it that there was a Taoist temple in this place, called Xuanfu Temple, which was a place for the emperor to rest on the way back to Beijing after visiting the tomb.
Over time, this view is called Huilong Temple, and the ruins of the Taoist Temple are nowhere to be found. Nowadays, people often mistakenly think that the site of a temple in the south of Huilongguan Village is the former site of Huilongguan, but this is not the case. There is also a temple site of the same scale in the north of the village, and the two temples are only the ancient temples of Huilongguan Village, commonly known as the South Temple and the North Temple.
It has nothing to do with the Xuanfu view. In the old days, there were temples in the nearby villages, and most of them were divided into two houses, north and south. Now, there is a protected old locust tree in the north of the east railway of Huilongguan Station of the city railway, which is the relic of the South Temple of Beidian Village, the original village here, and there is an iron bell of the Qing Dynasty hanging on the tree at that time.

There are three theories about the origin of the place name of Huilongguan:
1.Huilongguan was called "Huilong Temple" in the early years of the Yuan Dynasty, but it was only the "Jialan" of Huilong Temple (the Buddhist temple is divided into two parts; The front part is called "Garan", and the back part is called "Sangha Lan", which is referred to as "Temple". Garan has a tower and a courtyard, so it is called "temple"), it is a part of the whole Huilong Temple, and then it was destroyed due to the disaster, and only the name remains.
2.The name Huilongguan began in the Qing Dynasty. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, in order to celebrate his mother's birthday, the emperor ordered to build a large-scale temple here, and imitated the old system of the emperor of the Tang Dynasty, requiring 3,000 monks from all over the country to gather here to chant scriptures and pray for his mother.
At that time, there was a person from Changping County, Beijing, who came here, and he saw that the courtyard here was in order, so he praised it: "It is very good", and gave the name "Huilongguan".
3.In the early years, there were dozens of acres of water (Bishui Bay), according to legend, one day, the river rose sharply, and people came from all over the world to watch the water, calling this view Huilongguan. Later, the river gradually dried up in the area, so the people who moved here also became a temple for a long time, and called this place "Huilong Temple".
Hope the above information is helpful to you.

The name of Huilongguan does come from the historical fact that the emperor returned from the Ming Tombs and rested here, Huilongguan, these three words have not changed, but everyone has read them in vain. Look, is the first sound, that is, to see, to look. The emperor came back from the Ming Tombs, rested here on the way, and watched the capital from afar, so he named it "back (on the way back) Dragon (Emperor) View (Wait-and-see)".
Some time ago, someone said that when the locals said these three words, the first sound of the word was used, and this is the reason.
