July 6 -- The host city of the 2012 Summer Olympics will be released tonight! After exiting Moscow, New York and Madrid in the just-concluded IOC vote, London faced their old rivals across the English Channel in the final round in Paris. In the end, London defeated Paris to become the host city of the 30th Olympic Games.

The results of the first three rounds of voting were as expected. In the first round of voting, Moscow received the fewest votes and was the first to be eliminated. Their representatives will then have the opportunity to vote later.

In the second round of voting, New York of the United States received the fewest votes and could not escape the fate of being eliminated. In the third round of voting, no city received more than half of the votes in advance. Madrid, which was considered a potential "dark horse", received the fewest votes in this round, following in the footsteps of the two cities ahead of them, and was also eliminated.

The suspense of the host city elections was left to the final round, with London "dueling" the equally powerful Paris. In this round of voting, the two sides did not embarrass IOC President Rogge to a draw, but rather came out on top. After an almost suffocating wait, a 13-year-old Chinese-Singaporean girl handed Rogge a letter with results.

After thanking the people of Singapore, the host country, the countries that had previously applied and the five candidate countries, Rogge announced loudly to the world: The International Olympic Committee has decided to hand over the hosting rights of the 30th Olympic Games to London!
