The first archaeological and cultural site in China was named after the Yangshao culture.
It refers to an important Neolithic faience culture in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, which lasted from about 5000 to 3000 BC (that is, about 7000 to 5000 years ago, lasting about 2000 years), distributed throughout the middle reaches of the Yellow River from today's Gansu Province to Henan Province.
Because it was first discovered in Yangshao Village, Mianchi County, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province in 1921, this culture is called Yangshao culture according to archaeological conventions. It is centered on Guanzhong, Henan, Jinnan, where the tributaries of the Wei, Fen and Luozhu Yellow River converge, north to the Great Wall and the Hetao area, south to northwest Hubei, east to eastern Henan, and west to the border of Gansu and Qingdao.
Discover the significance of Yangshao culture:
After the discovery of Yangshao cultural sites, field archaeological excavations in China were gradually carried out, and the research of the Neolithic Age was extended to the Paleolithic Age, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, and the Chinese archaeological system was gradually established.
It makes the study of archaeology in China an important discipline among many disciplines at present. The archaeological excavations and research of the Neolithic Age have laid the foundation for the study of the origin of Chinese civilization and the Xia and Shang cultures.

Yangshao culture belongs to a type of culture in the Neolithic Age, which has a history of thousands of years. According to the excavations, the architectural style of that period has a certain similarity with the cave style in Shanxi and northern Shaanxi. The reason why I say this is because the buildings of the Yangshao culture period are cave dwelling buildings, with stoves in the interior and similarities in building materials.
A big reason why the buildings of the Yangshao culture period are similar to the caves is that they are all cave-dwelling buildings, and it can even be said that the current caves were developed from that time. Originally, Yangshao culture was popular in the Yellow River Valley, and the houses at that time were built from the caves, and slowly, a variety of cave dwelling styles were formed, such as the full cave type and the half cave type. This is basically the same as the cave buildings in Shanxi and northern Shaanxi.
Look at the current cave, the stove is in the dwelling, so people often say that there is a taste of home in the cave, because there is fireworks, there is a hot kang head. The building of the Yangshao period, according to the excavated remains, the stove pit is also located in the house**, which shows that the food was also cooked indoors during that period. The design of indoor stove can make the walls warmer, which can form indoor heating and optimize the living environment.
It can be seen that people in the Yangshao period have been very wise in life.
Now the city buildings are basically reinforced concrete, but the cave building materials are a little different, they are usually built with tamped loess, the loess may also be mixed with some weeds and the like, the proportion of modern building materials is low. Looking at the buildings of the Yangshao culture period, most of the materials used such as wood, numerical values, soil, straw, etc., are relatively close and similar to the materials of today's caves.
Therefore, from the perspective of architectural style, style, materials and other aspects, the buildings of the Yangshao period are more similar to the caves. The wisdom and culture of the ancients have been inherited from generation to generation, and after evolution, there are caves with a better living environment today.

During the Yangshao culture period, its architectural style was similar to that of today's caves. Cave caves are an ancient form of dwelling for the inhabitants of the Loess Plateau in northwest China, and the history of this "cave-dwelling" dwelling dates back more than 4,000 years. Caves are widely distributed in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Gansu and Ningxia provinces on the Loess Plateau.
In China's Shaanxi, Gansu, and Ning regions, the loess layer is very thick, some tens of kilometers thick, and the Chinese creatively use the favorable terrain of the plateau to dig holes and live in caves, creating cave buildings known as green buildings. Caves generally have cliff caves, sunken caves, free-standing and other forms, among which there are more applications of mountain kilns.

Similar to the current Soviet-style architecture, both of these buildings look very humanistic and natural, and will make people feel relaxed in the building.
-
Similar to the current Romanesque architecture, the Romanesque architecture is still at the forefront of the trend, and this type of architecture has a classical beauty.

Yangshao culture.
The Yangshao culture is a Neolithic culture in China between about 4515 and 2460 BC. It was first discovered in 1921 in Yangshao Village, Mianchi County, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. It is mainly distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, with the narrow strip of western Henan and southwest Shanxi as the center, east to the middle of Hebei, south to the upper reaches of the Han River, west to the Taohe River Basin of Gansu, and north to the Hetao area of Inner Mongolia.
Due to the different time spans and distribution areas, Yangshao culture must be classified and distinguished, and there are three main types: Banpo type, Miaodigou type and Xiwangcun.
